Re: Recommend me some films!
Midnight Run with DeNiro is awesome, granted its an 80's flick but it still lives strong by todays standards. DeNiro is the bounty hunter and Grodin is the mark. hey have to get from one side of the states to another but with hilarious mishaps along the way including the mob and fbi, then throw in another bounty hunter and you have perfection!
Black Rain with Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia. 80's cop flick where 2 american officers have to take a yakuza back home. Here they get mixed up in the whole situation meaning they have to work outside the local laws. Typically 80's but geat non the less!
Shawshank Redemption, one of the greatest films of all time (and my favourite movie) seeing Tim Robbins locked up for apparently murdering his wife, Morgan Freeman plays by far his best role ever as one of the only friends within the prison. Granted a prison setting but stirring and heart warming from start to finish.

Brilliant film!
Also add:
Oldboy
La Haine
Seven Samurai
City of God
Leon
Taxi Driver
Spirited Away
The Departed
Raging Bull
Once Upon a Time in America
Inglorious Basterds
Up
Gran Torino
Hotel Rwanda
Heat
The Deer Hunter
Amores Perros
That should be a nice mix for you ranging from 1954 to present day.
You can't really go wrong with anything directed by Scorsese, Tarantino, Brian De Palma, Oliver Stone or Michael Mann.
Re: Recommend me some films!
The Third Man.
North By Northwest.
King Kong (1933)
Amelie.
All very different really, but each a classic.

Seven Samurai - My favourite film from about the the age of eight. Difficult to find a version longer than the 3:10 commonly found. They usually cut out the love story between the young samurai and the peasent girl.
City of God - Saw in the cinema - wow; wonderful colours. There is a mini series followup which is quite fun "City of Men"
Leon - seen
Taxi Driver - seen
Spirited Away- seen
The Departed - seen
Raging Bull - own
Once Upon a Time in America - seen recently
Inglorious Basterds - I hate this film.
Up - Will add later although having to watch peppa pig with my son I am leaning towards something more gritty!
Gran Torino - seen
Hotel Rwanda- seen
Heat -seen
The Deer Hunter - seen
Amores Perros - seen - very good recommendation though.
Thanks again!

Yes and a remake is a BAD idea imo.
This is a quote from aintitcool dated Apr2010
If you thought the ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK remake was dead, you're wrong. Although Gerard Butler is not attached anymore (however I did hear some slight rumblings that he might not be completely down for the count) it seems New Line ain't willing to let it go.
According to THR's Heat Vision Blog New Line has brought on Breck Eisner who recently directed THE CRAZIES, which met with good critical reception and decent box office, to direct.
This is an interesting move as Eisner is also attached to the Flash Gordon remake.
Borys Kit says that Allan Loeb draft is sticking, which serves as a semi-remake/semi-prequel telling Snake's origin... Hopefully that doesn't mean baby Snake... but I imagine it's seeing Snake's failed robbery that gets him in cuffs in the first place.
Eisner's got a big job ahead of him, but I gotta say he's a major step up from Len Wiseman. After seeing what he did to Die Hard I'd enter some kind of depression if he actually farted around in Snake Plissken's world.
Re: Recommend me some films!
I suppose you've seen Fight Club?
Gomorrah?
The Road?
Blow?
American History X?

Re: Recommend me some films!
If you like action films, then Taken is a really good one - slightly cleverer than most.
Serenity was quite good fun - SciFi in the style of Joss Whedon (of Buffy fame)
The Green Mile - classic - can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet!
I assume you've seen the Matrix?
