Re: How about your worst film ever?

I'm sure there are plenty of worse ones but the worst I have seen is The Long Kiss Goodnight. It was so bad I had to stop watching about 2/3 of the way through.

    Probably an unpopular choice too.

I think my vote has to go to Timeline starring Billy Connolly.

Mediocre plot and appalling acting. Saw it in the cinema. We all wanted to see master and commander but my friend insisted it would be good... It wasn't. People were heckling and leaving early.

    DIRE utterly DIRE.

Is that the film of the Michael Crichton book?

    I liked the book...

Probably, but with the exception of Jurassic Park I can't think of one Michael Crichton book that has been good on the big screen. Congo. I rest my case.

Just seen a review. I don't recall the English being the 'evil oppressors' like in the film. It was a while ago, mind...

I'll got out on a limb with this one, probably not worst ever but can you honestly watch it without cringing?

It's Hollywood so they have to mock the English/British (frequently the two seem mistaken to be the same thing) or portray us as the epitome of evil - sometimes both.

No-one behaved nicely during the Hundred Years War but inevitably in this kind of flick, the 'bad guys' display the most extreme aspects of medieval behaviour whilst the 'good guys' are blessed with the kind of attitudes and world view rarely found before the Age of Enlightenment.

This is probably a side effect of what happens when your country has no real or measurable history.

Andromeda Strain ROCKED! But that was before Crichton went rockstar. Without sounding all Hipster about it, he got too mainstream.

Eddie Izzard does a great sketch about the british being baddies in films. Star Wars: "Sir, it's the rebels. I don't know what they want, but they've brought a flag."

No Retreat No Surrender is so bad it's actually good. It goes full circle and is very funny and entertaining. Definitely worth watching.

Re: How about your worst film ever?

Kill Bill pt2... Purely because someone had been the day before to see it and completely over sold it.

Its an OK film at best, it lacks genuine atmospheric shots, oh its got lots of little sub stories in one has it, whoop-t-do it feels dragged out with a lack of script writing, you've got something for Uma's toes does you? well that justifies a painfully slow sequence of her on a rocking chair doesn't it....
