Is it just me or has this new season been fairly boring so far, nothing of great interest has really happened...

Bloodbath? In Game of Thrones? Surely that could never happen! (apart from every other episode LOL).

Ep. 3 finished on a doozie, read the books but still getting surprised by things 'cos I can't remember everything that's gonna happen.

Hehe, both. Not sure which was more shocking, the punk 'Maiden Fair' or poor Jaime's misfortune (hope he's a bit less smug now in any case)...

I expect tonights episode to be a good one , before we start building up to the grand finale .

Jamie looks like hes going to be going through some big changes - for better or worse dont know, but at least left him one hand his pecker for now .

Thumbs up Re: Game of Thrones

Yep, Jaime is definitely less smug, poor thing...

I can't help worrying whenever someone appears to show concern for another in this show, it's always a recipe for heartache (and Brianne is a personal favourite of mine as the noblest knight of all of 'em).

And the continued winnowing of fine British character actors continues. Just as you get used to their gruff voices belting out manly homilies in a rumbling Northern accent (no Irish or Welsh yet AFAIK) off they pop, usually undone in a most treacherous & unseemly manner

    Re: Game of Thrones

PS Who'd bet against Daenerys now, both kind & ruthless

Even tho I knew what would happen in Astapor (as I'd have done the same thing), was still a spine-tingling moment at the end

I dunno , Daenerys is one of those late bloomers who sorta seems like shes a pushover until she finds her calling , she made a major statement in the last episode any way.

However- can her army even with dragons hope to hold onto the throne even if she takes it ( she surely cant have more than Tyrells & Lannisters ?)

There are so many ?? factors going on - not sure what to think - my gut tells me Lannisters get it bad this season with perhaps only Tyrion surviving because everyone is out for their blood - and Tyrion is 2 much of a favourite to kill off- yet.

But what happens when you got 3/4 armies who are competing for their heads ?

Will they fight out between them to decide , or take turns , or even join to take down Lannisters ?

    Re: Game of Thrones

PS Is it just me or is Tyrion almost playing 2nd fiddle to everyone else this season so far ?

Seems like hes been neutered , unless he has some cunning plan ( bloody dwarf )

    Re: Game of Thrones

I think most people would most certainly accept Daenerys (once her Dragons are full grown) as Queen, certainly more than the other, less magical contenders

Harrenhal is a pertinent reminder of the power of dragons; none of the other aspirants appear to have much in the way of ethereal firepower apart from the tricksy Lady of Light (a still unknown quantity as yet)...

However, Daenerys faces big setbacks of her own (no spoilers but let's just say it ain't easy controlling dragons, or cities)

Of course they're ALL ignoring the biggest threat of all: Winter is coming and the white walkers are bearing down on Westeros whilst the world is divided against itself. If anything can bring people together, perhaps it's imminent utter destruction...

    PS Nice interactive map: http://quartermaester.info/

Warning: Possible spoilers if you track a character by 'Chapter' as it'll show you where they end up by the end of Book 5 if you're not careful

Yes, Im bit confused at what Mances plan is there , I thought he was sort of tagging behind the WW's so they could act as diversion / soften things up while he goes for the jugular , but now it seems like he wants to get to the wall first to take over it / stop them .

I guess letting the WWs through is no good for any one as you say regardless of whose left to deal with them ?

cant be many crows there either so Im guessing Mance plans to take them out fast them secure it against the WWs after his lot get through.
