I think Rob's, Jon's and Bran's are still alive. And yes they do seem larger which is more in keeping with the books.
didnt jons alert him of the walkers come2think of it ?
ive never read the books but now Ive already seen season 1 I dont think theres much point
, if I read the 2nd book it would just spoil it..
I think the some of the history I read on nagga , drowned god sounds pretty interesting , but I guess thats too much fantasy to be included in a book.

Rob, Jon, Bran and Rickon all have living wolves with them. Arya's wolf was chased away on the road to King's Landing and hasn't been seen since. Sansa's was killed.
I quite liked the ep, but I have read the books so maybe knowing a lot of the backstory helped.
....
FWIW it seems episode 2 is already available...
Where?!
Ahhh I see HBO-Go released it early for their subscribers . . .. gonna go search!
So 2 houses have " pets " that relate to their coat of arms.
Cant see Lannisters with lions, but picturing a greyjoy naval assault now with a giant Kraken :D
And house Arryns giant Eagles ?? against Dragons.
What about House Tyrell , whats their secret weapon ?? Opium ??? :o

Very much enjoying Game of Thrones... not quite as much as the walking dead though which is just uninterrupted awesome.
Good series this, well thought out.:)
Its a toss up , so far. Season 2 of TWD was pretty lackluster ( though i enjoy quiet moments ) I dont think it works so well in GOT unless its the usual metaphors and political barbing.
Im just worried this season will be slow , ( esp with house Targaryen being a non factor ) and not that much happening.
