Awesome film. Keifer at the height of his powers.
"How far you willing to go, Michael?" line still gives me the shivers.
I bet she hates The Goonies as well, right?
I have a theory, and no one else ever seems to twig it. Keifer was engaged to Julia Roberts. He broke it off. All of a sudden, his film career just went totally down the tubes until 24, like, 15 years later or something.
Same with Kim Basinger. She says "no" to Boxing Helena, and *poof* all the good parts dry up for her until she's reduced to playing Eminem's mum in 8 mile.

I also enjoyed, for the record:
Monster Squad, but I'd imagine that has NOT aged well at all.
The Crow. Obviously. But that's the best film ever ever ever made. Better even than Scott Pilgrim and Star Wars and Ghostbusters.
I never really enjoyed Near Dark.
Fright Night. Watched that recently. Not a patch on Lost Boys.

"DEATH BY STEREO". Film was really awesome for its time, vampire films have gone to... well i dont want to say hell, but something crap.

I also love the film!

Lost Boys is excellent. I wouldn't pay much attention to what your other half says in reference to it, especially if she uses phrases like 'back in the day' /shudder, although what can you expect if she doesn't think Lost Boys is good![]()
I love this film, its one of the defining moments in 80's cinema history, great soundtrack, menacing and also hilarious characters, decent story, what more could you want from a movie. Corey Haim and Feldman are just great as are the rest of the cast. One of the things I really like about Lost Boys is that it actually has something for everyone, it has a few different aspects in the way it tells the story and ties it all in. The comedy that comes from the Frog brothers and the sheer menace of Kiefer Sutherland and the rest of the vampires (look out for Bill S Preston from the Bill & Ted movies)
The only other vampire movie I have enjoyed as much from the past few years has been 30 Days of Night, which is all out horror. It is extremely well written and acted, the location couldnt be better, very claustrophobic movie.
Got Lost Boys on DVD, will at some point be upgrading it to Bluray (This and the Goonies come to think of it).
oh yes, 30 days of night is also very good, stunning on Bluray as well, possibly one of the best looking Blurays i have seen.

Me too, on all counts!
I've really fond memories of the film and the music.
Thirty Days of Night was good but a couple of things gave me issues with it: The vampires' screams got really tedious and started annoying me fairly early on and the fact that the head vamp looked like Neil Tennant from The Pet Shop Boys gave me chortling problems too.
I do watch it when it's on the telly, though!![]()
Lost Boys for the win.
Frog Brothers rock

for some reason the actual film version is the only the demo of the Echo and the Bunymen song, its better then the one on the soundtrack as well.

I don't know really, I gave it a go once but I wasn't exactly watching it with my full attention. I didn't really care for it, from what I can remember there was a shed load of plot holes that annoyed me.
