The Lost Boys - Good or Not?

For me its a classic, it looks old but in an odd way it just adds to the film! Another thing abotu this film is the sound track, some amazing songs in the film.

But.....

My wife hates it! She says its old, wasn't good back in the day (its actually a bit before our time as I was only about 5 when it came out) and is just stupid. She also hates the music from it although she doesn't really like 80s / early 90's stuff (not even Don't You from the Breakfast club!)

So what so you guys and gals think? Good or turd?

Amazing film imo, alot of other films/programs spawned from it.

Top film.....i like the soundtrack aswell.

I am edging very close to 40 though.

Its one of my top 10 films, and almost every song in the soundtrack is a good one too.

Love it, and the soundtrack - actually my favourite version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" too......

(Also verrrry close to 40 :p )

The cover is actually OK but the original is just far better. On top of this the "newer" sound is not that new as studio production for popular music was pioneered in the 1970s by people like Jean Michel Jarre and Gary Numan and groups like Kraftwerk,YMO,Pink Floyd and The Who.

You do know that Ray of Light was a cover? (even though the Ray of Light CD doesn't say so and says its Madonna / Orbit and she even said her self that she wrote it!)

Although I do have to say that the Modonna version is an amazing song, but I put that down to Orbit to be honest.

TBH,I don't understand how someone can hate ALL of the music produced in the 1980s and LOVE music produced in the last 5 years or so. So much is directly influenced by music from the 1980s or trying to emulate it directly in feel and texture. People are even trying to use the old synths and samplers or trying to emulate the sound using modern software.
