12 angry men
Ladies and gentlemen- it pains me to say that, in my 40 years on this planet, 25 of them watching movies, i've not seen this 1957 cracker until tonight. But that is all sorted now. I've seen this piece of class film and now, like an evangelist . . . I must preach :-)
black and white, mono sound and absorbing from the first few minutes. . It's a masterpiece. 12 men (juror's) in a murder case sent to a single room in hot weather, to decide the future of a young lad accused of murder.
Simple story. Stunning in the tension and the sheer genius of the camera angles and brilliance of script. I was glued. Glued. I'm reliving scenes now in my head. It was like being at the theatre and seeing it first hand. Close and personal. 12 men with different attitudes and we will all recognise at least some of them from our lives.
I can't recommend it highly enough. Magnificent :-)

Re: 12 angry men
Gutted that i've never seen it. It's one of the best i've ever seen and without a doubt i could sit and watch it again immediately.
This is very corny but . . . .
They really don't make 'em like they used to, do they?

It's the exceptionally long monologues and sets of dialogue that really make it a stand out film for me.
My brother introduced me to it a long time ago, he had it on video, and I got it on DVD pretty soon after that. It really is a fantastic film.
