I hear what you are saying there Bob, but I can see an argument for the other side.
Films made before the special effects we have today (Spiderman 70's or the newest effort for instance)
Books that were made into films and butchered by the film company (the book is always, with the exception of LOTR, better than the film, so there must have been some awful book > screen adaptations out there)
I just shudder to think of them remaking Rainman or Shawshank, even though they probably won't for years yet if they ever do.
Ghost Rider, Fantastic 4, Emmanuelle (featuring Jessica Alba) should all be remade in my opinion![]()
Anything French should not be remade in Hollywood. French films don't do happy endings, and never should*...
*Apart from those that do, in which case it's OK...

You know they're remaking (or 're-imagining' I believe is their wording) the solid gold classic 'Scarface'.
Which is quite frankly retarded and pointless.
Big trouble in little China lol classic that should never be re-made! Few others:
Predator
Days of Thunder
Smokey and the Bandit
Thats easy, Star Wars Prequels for a start , the last Indiana Jones , Any Michael Bay Film involving robots ( cough ) ..
Those are the main ones that come to mind though Id just easily not bother and let history erase them instead.
Indiana Jones , Star Wars will still shine but as for Transformers...
Same can be said for the Narnia films which were terrible as well .
m
The Godfather series. Though I think they're safe for just now as they're not wham bam enough for the modern generation...
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
I work with a lad who will not accept that there has been a transformers film since the cartoon one in the 80`s
If they ever attempt to remake Ferris Buellers Day off or The breakfast club then I hope the director dies a horrible death.
Well, I cant blame him - I mean i know its fantasy, but its also a slap in the face to the very fans that supported and loved it , and having Shia labeouf in it , was like the kiss of death after the nightmare of this..
It reminds of this scene at the start of Attack of the Clones in which almost half the theater ( im not joking ) walked out .
It was so outrageous to watch / think this was the same director who did the originals I almost burst out in a fit of laughter thinking it was all a big joke of sort... if only
melon
if anyone ever remade The Man Who Would Be King, i can confidently say i will punch them in the throat really, really hard
if it ain't broke...fix it till it is
everything except musical
