    LoveFilm subscriptions

I signed up for Love Film many moons ago, and the £4.99 4 per month/1 at a time deal.

The fee has slowly crept up year on year, which to be honest I just ignored, until the wife asked me yesterday why we had 2 movies from them? A quick check on the web site, and low-and-behold, I'm on the unlimited movies and downloads and 2 at a time paying £9.99 per month!

I'm presuming that I should have read some of the mail from them rather than ignoring it as SnailMail Spam, so I'm not complaining about the deal. To be honest, with chrimbo around the corner, a shiny new PS3 under the TV, the idea of streaming all the movies I can eat suddenly becomes appealing. But has any one else experienced this?

    Oh, and whilst I'm here....

    HAPPY CHRIMBO!

£13.27 with no games rentals, £14.99 with.

Got the PS3 setup to LoveFilm... have to admit that I'm not impressed with the movies available online! Still, at least it will keep us occupied searching through the online catalogue for 15 minutes. Kinda handy that you can add movies to your account through the interface though, saves booting up a PC!

I was recently on the 2 at a time thing, but they just bumped us up to the 3 at a time thing, apparently for free...

    Re: LoveFilm subscriptions

I signed up for a LOVEFILM Subscription while back, a 2 week free trial - And they made it very difficult for me to cancel. I searched long and hard for a number, and when I finally found it, they told me over the phone that there was a problem with the system and couldn't cancel accounts at the moment and told me to try again later. I wasn't impressed and thought that I was being scammed - But i tried back later and managed to cancel before they charged my account. I guess I won't be trying that again in a hurry - especially with the fees going up too. Not worth it when i was hardly watching it anyway.

    Re: LoveFilm subscriptions

We had Lovefilm for a while, and enjoyed the service, but we ran out of films we wanted to watch.

I also tried the movie streaming service, but wasn't impressed with the selection or the quality of the video - it is (or was) sub-DVD standard.

I trialled LF and found it to be severely lacking (as someone who does not want to use the postal system!)

Will definitely be trialling Netflix soon, now that it has landed in the UK.

    Re: LoveFilm subscriptions

I signed upto Lovefilm in December on a months trial mainly to check out the streaming service. It's crap to be blunt. Poor quality picture and no subtitles (a major negative for me). Signed up for Netflix a couple of days ago and it's brilliant. Having a huge selection of films and TV shows on tap is a bit mind blowing at first! Most importantly for me is that the vast majority of the available shows are subtitled. As a bonus, the picture and sound quality is far superior to Lovefilm's poor effort. Netflix is well worth checking out.

Waiting for Netflix to hit these shores. Lovefilm doesn't get all new films and can watch Netflix on iPhone & iPad! Especially cool when I get iPad 3 with much higher res screen!
