    Re: Prometheus (Ridley Scott)

Just as a further catch-up to my comments above, yesterday, I spoke to a friend of mine who works in the film industry. I mentioned what I thought of Prometheus and he wasn't at all surprised and said that he'd heard a lot of mutterings from people involved at various levels of the project who were very unhappy with the end result and some of the decisions that were made..

Now, obviously this is an industry that's as prone as any other (indeed, perhaps more so) to sniping and bitching but the impression I got was that some people think Ridley Scott has become too rich and successful to listen to criticism and is directing with splendid isolation from the peak of his ivory tower and that his films are really suffering as a result.... I don't know if that's true or a fair summary but I do know I would lump Prometheus into the same category as Robin Hood and that is really not a good place to be bundled into!!

:edit: If the above view is true then it's doubly sad as Ridley Scott is clearly a guy with the vision and money to make good, standout films, particularly in a climate when the money men in Hollywood are ordering remakes of films hand over fist...

    They missed the boat IMO

Hulk should of been the focal point not ironman ( who I cant stand personally thanks to Downey being his usual smart assed so- cal self )

(coff coff !!!! - edit by g8ina) all the gay acrobatics and crap dialogue nobody cares about , again its so cliched , pointless and overdone now , how many more times are we going to see the same landing to the ground with the same knee bent / head down / heres comes the badass stare - cue some bad rock track ??

The only bit I liked was Hulk beating Loki into the ground ( prob after realizing this was the 3rd crap film hed been in )

Hawkeye was so irrelevant he might as well have not been there- poor guy didnt even get his mask , yet Downey gets the full blowjob and of course saves the day.

ironman 4 and few other guys vs the slimey limey

thats what it should of been called.

    ugh

    Re: Prometheus (Ridley Scott)

Well, I just got back from watching it and am quite happy with the flim, it's what I expected it to be, not an Alien flim with all the true horror and scary stuff, but a good old Sci-Fi flim that explains the beginnings of the Alien flims and where they come from and why in a visual foam.

I was disappointed with one or two parts, highlight the text to read it >>>> namely when they woke up the Alien and he didn't speak or anything... <<<<

The ending leaves room for a other movie! Finally, the sound and 3D aspects was really awesome, it was my first 3D flim for a really long time.

Is there still more Prometheus to come?

    Re: Prometheus (Ridley Scott)

I thought it was really good to be honest. I wasn't going expecting a closely linked alien prequel as Scott said that that just wasn't the case. It has created many interesting questions and theories which I hope they answer in a sequel. Some of the acting and character development was just naff but the film as whole was very good I thought.

I also saw it in D-Box at Cineworld which interestingly made the experience better. I thought it was a waste of money but I'm thinking that now and then as a treat it has a lot to offer. I would hope that all seats have this as standard in the future.

    Re: Prometheus (Ridley Scott)

For me: an utterly predictable plot, two-dimensional characters with whom you never really engage, plodding story line.

It looks gorgeous and Fassbender was brilliant but otherwise - meh.
