Ive been given a copy of the wonderful Arturia Modular Moog software synthesiser, and would love to play some of my midi files thru it, does anyone know how this may be achieved ?

Through a sequencer that can use the soft synth as a plugin. Any of the major DAWs should be able to do what you want :)
VST Host, not the most elegant soloution for playing MIDIs through soft synths but one of the easier ones to get working.
