Am just re-watching Flight Of The Conchords.
Those NZ guys just crack me up - not for everyone I think, but if you get their humour then you wont forget them.
recently? game of thrones, breaking bad and boardwalk empire
Game of Thrones
Battlestar Galactica
ST: DS9
The Wire
Big Bang Theory
All are excellent for completely different reasons.
The Middle and Modern Family
both are comedies
Get a laugh, relax, then sleep, try it :)
Hope it helps. :D Good luck with sleeping!
The King of Queens
My Family
Everybody Loves Raymond
The Middle
IT Crowd
Current: Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy
Finished: Oz, The Shield, The Wire
My favourites are
The West Wing - Aaron Sorkin at his best imo
The Wire - The greatest TV series ever?
The Office (UK and US) - Both are amazing for their own reasons. The US version starts off rough but becomes quite good in the latter seasons.
The Shield - Great characters and following the strike team was always gripping
24 - Must have marathoned through the first 2 seasons in a weekend.
The Twilight Zone. All day long
chappelle show
hey 2 seasons is a series is it not
And for some good british stuff
Spooks
BUGS
There are plenty of great series out there but my favourite is still 'How I Met Your Mother' even though recent seasons are not as good.
obvious ones:
breaking bad
boardwalk empire
the shield
the wire
24
red dwarf
blackadder
peep show
loads more.
overlooked/obscure/forgotten ones:
boomtown - overlooked police drama showing the storyline from the perspective of numerous characters within the show.
operation good guys - one of the funniest series ever that nobody seems to remember. 3 seasons of hilarity. comedic spoof documentary of the British police force. CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace - great spoof comedy of low budget 70/80's drama
Anything by Charlie Brooker
Well, these are among my favourite ones.
Fringe
Battlestar Galactica
Dexter
Recently, I have loved "Game of Thrones" (the fact that a lot of it was made in Belfast, where I live makes me even happier!).
But it you need something a bit less serious before bed, try "How I Met Your Mother". It's fun and light, nothing that will get you thinking even more.
no particular order
breaking bad
dexter
HIMYM
The big bang theory
Game of Thrones
The walking dead
Serenity
and more...!
