Got to agree, "Community" is the freshest comedy on TV & may just be the best thing that's still running.
Other shows worth watching that I haven't seen mentioned:
"Parks and Recreation" - Funny mockumentary about an American government office with an overzealous main character.
"Scrubs", you've probably seen it before.
"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" - Very good spin off of the movies, plenty of action and characterisation to get you invested in the leads.
"Veronica Mars" - Great acting and plot, never a dull episode.
"Samurai Jack" - Admittedly a cartoon, but very entertaining.
Good selection there, My choice are;
Person of Interest
Alcatraz
Dynamo
Idiot abroad
Mrs Browns Boys
Sirens
The finder
The Simpsons when I had sky ( esp loved the specials )
X files - ( i only saw season 2 - 3 ? , is the rest worth it ? )
American Gothic ( the kid and sheriff Buck were excellent )
m
1. Fringe
2. Flashpoint
3. Strike back Project Dawn
X Files started to get a bit weird (more than what it usually was) towards the end of Season 4 and a few seasons after that it wasn't as good, it then picked up again, Mulder was also missing from most the final season if my mind serves me right. I have season 1 - 4 box sets, need to actually get the rest and complete my collection. Even though it got a bit weird and stale at times it was still a great show to watch, just don't do a marathon type sitting with the later seasons or you may find yourself getting a little bored.
Another good one if you actually like X Files is Millenium with Lance Henrickson, they only did 3 seasons though, it was supposed to run right through to 2000 with an ongoing story. It was REALLY good and interesting to watch as it was all the strange phenomenon like X Files but more about serial killers etc and the main guy was the investigator. Had a lot more adult overtones, just a shame it was cancelled before finishing. Lance Henricksons character did show up to investigate with Mulder & Scully in Season 7 of X Files and you found out what happened to the Millenium group briefly. This show was also penned by Chris Carter, same guy that done X Files. If you do get this, one of the seasons has an episode where a group of demons are in a donut shop at night talking about how they were seen and stopped by Henrickson, was interesting take looking at things from the other side. Another good one is where he is caught up in a kind of Film Noir type scenario and he is like Dick Tracy, absolutely hilarious.
Now who else is actually ready for October 4th, 9PM Dave HD?
Red Dwarf X starts and is six episodes, cant wait, love the show to this day, absolutely brilliant. Comes out on Bluray & DVD on November 19th.
Yep, looking forward to Red Dwarf's return..hope they return to the vibe from the first two or three series. Great fun.
Have to totally agree with Ferral on Millennium it was terrific
The Sopranos for me, best by quite a margin.
i dont think anyones mentioned UNDERBELLY, austrailian crime drama which dramatised real life underworld/gang wars.
s1 - melbourne war in the 90s
s2 - 'mr asia' heroin syndicate in the 70s
s3 - not particularly memorable tbh, except as a followup to s2 characters.
s4 - 1920s sidney(?) - this one was really good
theres also been a new zealand spin-off and several standalone episodes. but if youve only time to watch one, skip to s4.
1. The Wire
2. Curb Your Enthusiasm
3. Murder One
4. Inbetweeners
5. Only Fools and Horses
24 is the only one ever caught my attention
Dexter
Big Bang Theory
At the moment, 'Strike Back' is right up there, Action scenes as good as you find in a lot of films, Great chemistry between the whole cast, And more than a bit of rumpy pumpy to spice it up.
Stuff like this all the time.
