    Amelie

OH... MAN.. this film os funny, and cool beyond a freezers deepest shelf.

French with Subtitles.. and to be honest, the first 5 minutes, while very funny, is SO FAST as to be possibly worth rewinding to make sure you get the subtitles properly AND the screen work.

However... once into the film it settles to a normal subtitled pace and get funnier, more intriguing and better by the minute.

Within half an hour (I was proper hungry but unable to get to the beeping oven, who's timer alarm was going mental, because) I was engrossed. Hitting pause seemed... wrong.

Luckily, it IS pausable,.. it didn't ruin it.... and the magic returned immediately I hit play again with food for nomming.

Funny, clever, with a multitude of genius moments, and teists that I didn't see coming, and seriously great storyline.

Having recently seen a few allegedly great films that were "so so" (ie PAUL and Despicable Me) this was a lightning bolt across my funny nerve.

Total pleasure.. totally great and well worth a second view... and prolly a third tbh.

    Top draw film. Watch it.

I also did a walk around Montmartre to see the locations used in the film. Totally worth it.

    Re: Amelie

I saw it twice in the cinema when it first came out.

The first time I saw it on my own because I like French films, the second time when I took a girl on a date. She liked it as well.

    Re: Amelie

We watched this in English class* in about year 9 or 10 at school.

That would be... oh dear, a good decade ago or more.

    Nevertheless, a brilliant film.

    Re: Amelie

An absolutely amazing film and one of my favourites. A proper feel good film with a querky narrative and an equally querky female lead role. I implore everyone to see it that haven't especially at that price!
