Re: Three films with Kick Ass sound tracks

Lowe beat me to Tron Legacy - naff film, but great soundtrack.
    Pan's Labyrinth
    Amelie

The latter two both have great incidental sound details.

    Easy rider.
    Fist full of dollars.

Great films too, luckily- but mainly remarkable for superb sounds.

    Conan the barbarian
Get Carter (Michael Caine version) (Roy Budd did the whole thing on an electric organ)
Requiem as above (The film made me cringe all the way through)

EDIT: The good , the bad and the ugly. (CJD's Fistful made me think of it)

Re: Three films with Kick Ass sound tracks

The few that spring to my mind is

    Lost Boys
    Tron Legacy
    Batman
    Blues Brothers

Love them all for different reasons, but mainly due to the fact they are just perfect for there respected films which isnt always the case

Re: Three films with Kick Ass sound tracks

    oooh... GREAT thread

for 5.1 DTS beauty.. though sadly not for picture quality upscaled to HD from DVD>......

House of the Flying Daggers. In fact so good is the DTS, it's worth switching to Dolby Digital to see how much better DTS is.

For music.. for sounds.... there are a couple of beauties.

    Brassed Off....
    and
    The Commitments.

But I have to agree that Kick Ass as a sound track is amazing.

Re: Three films with Kick Ass sound tracks

    My choices would be:

Ravenous - by Michael Nyman & Damon Albarn
The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis
    The Blues Brothers
