I was a big Metallica fan when I was younger and I'm a big rock fan in general. One of their albums "Garage Inc" is actually composed mostly of cover songs. I personally love the album, but a few which personally stick out are "Die, Die My Darling" originally by The Misfits, "Turn The Page" originally by Bob Seger, "Tuesday's Gone" originally by 'Skynard and "Whiskey In the Jar" my personal favourite originally a folk song but inspired by Thin Lizzy's cover.
Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams" is also awesome, as is Korn's "Another Brick in the wall".
