Never heard of Reuben? shocked. Had proper albums, played Download festival and all sorts - they even have a tribute band (http://www.myspace.com/reubencornedbeef). Normally very serious 'hardcore' band, Helmet stylee.
.
I was never a big metal fan and largely stopped following it years ago, to me that sounds more like like almost garage - but terms and definitions tend to change a lot and bands youd see in mags like Kerrang now, would of never made it 20 yrs ago.
My music origins go back to synth groups like depeche mode - as thats what I grew up with . Although there was some metal bands I liked back in the day ACDC, Helloween - Aerosmith ,they were few and far between .
Never really got into Grunge but liked it , and was too young too really catch punk and all that jazz. Nu metal had its moments too I guess , but for me the mid 90s was prob pinnacle of my music tastes - for personal and musical reasons , the highlight being the first time I heard PHM ( NIN reference of course )
If Id lived in more of bigger town Id probably of been exposed more variety than the mainstream stuff I knew at the time , nearly all the stuff I like now , were things Id never heard of ( and would of prob never heard of ) without the internet.
I wish I could say I was around for those scenes but I wasnt , I've never been a group person ( whatever side of the fence its on ) as they all are ultimately governed by the same hireachy and laws.
For me the interesting time would of been part of that scenes actually emergence before it came noticed ,and having seeing the beginnings of the movement firsthand before its eventually demise .
Age, stardom, and excess usually take away that raw energy and mystique these groups had , till all thats left is skeletal remains playing some watered down ****ty pop tune ( see U2 ) . When it comes down to that Id far rather see someone like Bowie trying to innovate and fail , then listen to the stones acting and banging out the same ol tunes like some sad old carnival act for a few pennies more.

Came across this song under bizarre circumstances. Bottom line is, this falls firmly in the territory of 'so bad... it's just bad'.
