For action you can't go wrong with Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, BTOOOM!, One Piece, Fairy Tail. For Scifi I liked Psycho-Pass, Shin Sekai Yori. For horror Another. Just off the top of my head.
Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titans). This series is on top right now.
Actually, anime is not my interest but in fact, I was watching this in 3 days straight...
Oh my gosh, yes, yes it is so awesome. Future Diary is the best I've watched in a long time.

Currently watching Black Bullet, Blade and Soul and Fairy Tail (finally returned). Shame I've not got time to check any more of this seasons new ones.

It's definitely not like SAO, but I like it. I'm only about 7 episodes in though. I think there's a chance there's more potential in this one just because SAO tends to explore fewer issues, more driven by a single plot-line whereas Log Horizon seems to be an exploration of ideas based on the premise of making a life when locked into an MMO.

A special mention must be made for Saint Seiya. An anime that spanned across 22 years!
DRUM ROLL .....
Sword Art Online II has just aired it's first episode. Asuna and Kirito are still there and thankfully have not been replaced!
It was an okay first episode, no action.
The thing that bothers me is this 'new' VR game is all about guns, no swords.
Toyko Ghoul was a very strong first episode.

Sengoku Basara 3 has started airing
Finished Gin no Saji season 2 and it was really good. It's slice of life, so if you're not into that then it might seem dull, but honestly, I'd recommend anyone who is willing to consider just good writing to give it a look. I really hope they come through with a season 3 when possible.

It is a bit like a Gundam rip-off, but hey no decent Gundam series about currently
Hunter X Hunter, Naruto Shippuden, Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online seem to be my go to animes at the moment. Do love watching anime but just finding the time and not being able to multi-task whilst watching, ie. Browse the iPad and other crap I do, is what I find most annoying as I only ever like to watch subbed.
Still I feel I need to broaden my horizon when it comes to anime, I only ever seem to watch longer drawn out series and it does start to get a bit repetitive...
Just found and watched Captain Harlock CGI movie.
Blast from the past!
Also planning to watch Appleseed Alpha
