If Wisdom is the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and its deliberate use to improve well being then how come "Ignorance is bliss"
Just finished 'One Week Friends'. Found it on one of those 'Best Anime of the Year' threads. Really enjoyed it. It's a slice of life anime about a high school boy who wants to make friends with a loner girl in his class. When he works up the guts to talk to her he finds out why she doesn't make friends - every Monday morning her memories of any friends are lost. Not one to be deterred he decides to persist.
It sounds a bit sickly sweet and there are some moments like that but overall it's handle in a clever, thoughtful and real way, genuinely trying to explore the subject of friendship and what it might mean to be faced with that scenario.
Only 12 episodes long and my wife and I are hoping a manga sequel will be written so we can watch a season 2.
Lighter stuff, but just enjoyable.
We've not just started on Hyouka. First episode seen. So far, so interesting. Good animation. Interesting writing. Will see how it goes.

Any decent replacements for Bleach in that kind of mold where the main character becomes the most powerful guy in the story

It's still on-going, somewhat slowly at times due to the writer's notorious pace, but have you seen Hunter x Hunter (2011 version)?
Gon is 'sort of' the main character and while he is nowhere near the most powerful character in the story, yet, there is some foreshadowing in that direction.
Good anime either way, if not a bit dark at times.

Anyone else been watching SAO II since it came back?
Started out a little bit slow but I'm enjoying it. Nice twist to have the guns, and I'd almost have enjoyed having a world of pure gun battles, but the 'lone swordsman in a world of guns' idea has been cool so far. Blatant light-sabre rip-off but I can't say I care. Good way to fold in the previous series too.
Only down side for me is the 'I have to go it alone' emo-loner nonsense. Hopefully that will be cleared up soon though.

Have to add "YuYu Hakusho" to that list!
I agree it was a little slow to start with but really picking up stride now and enjoying it each week. I do feel a bit cheated sometimes when it is the end of the episode and there has been no action. Then again it's always been that way for SAO as there was never as much action as it could have had (missing loads of levels and boss fights out).
Sword Art Online
One of the things that's bugged me about the new series is that in order to play the new game (GGO), Kirito had to lose all progress and items he had in ALO. So you are either stuck in one game forever or you have to lose all progress to play another game? That sounds like BS.
Anyone watching Kill la kill. I freaken love this anime. Ryuko is astounding in this one. And I like how they incorporate a school setting and aren't actually studying real school work. Its like an academy where you can earn a uniform, which is based upon stars. The highest amount of stars you can get is 3, which is intense, because once you have one of these uniforms (Goku Uniform) you gain incredible power such as super speed, super strength, intelligence, and so on. You all should check it out. Especially if you like Bleach.
Ultimate Gamer
Can't see Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman either, which is a classic... though we won't mention the abbreviated American version which never happened, just like you can never see Danny Glover and a Predator in the same film !!!

Finished reading the Full Metal Panic Sigma manga (Had previously read original and Fumoffu).
Nice to finally have closure and a number of things from the anime. Still my favourite mecha anime/manga.
Now to kick Tokyopop up the arse to get all the Light Novels released (last one was 2011)
List updated.
