Revolution - new JJ Abrams show!

Great concept, and it has Gustavo Fring from Breaking Bad. I can't see how this can go wrong

Re: Revolution - new JJ Abrams show!

I don't even have to watch the trailer - the fact it's from JJ Abrams makes it worth a shot at least

He does tend to be very hit and miss (can't forgive cloverfield! and Fringe is decidedly rubbish), but Alias, Lost, Alcatraz..3 excellent shows that have convinced me to try watching most of his TV series.

Good concept, looking foward to seeing this when it eventually gets picked up by Channel 4 or SkyOne

I like the hint to the computers in Lost at the end.

Re: Revolution - new JJ Abrams show!

I left Star Trek out as I can't decide if I love it or hate it..as its definitely not "Star Trek" or remotely a "Star Trek" film, but it was a good film in it's own right.

Kind of like the new Dr Who - it's entertaining but has no relation to the original series aside from character names.

Plus obviously it's not as good as Alias, which is quite simply his best work to date.

Re: Revolution - new JJ Abrams show!

See I really like Fringe, I think I like Walter being completely mad as a box of frogs. Lost just lost me after the 2nd series. Not seen Alias.

But this looks like it will be good, I just hope its not a let down like Falling Skies was

Re: Revolution - new JJ Abrams show!

Looks interesting, heavy on CGI though which is always a test for T.V budgets.

I mean I love Fringe, at least I did to begin with when it was treading "monster of the week" X-Files territory, I still like it but I get the feeling when it comes time to end the show it's going to come to as disappointing a conclusion as Lost did. Alcatraz has it's moments too but I'm tired of almost procedural nature of it - "bad guy appears, some mild peril, bad guy caught using methods or tech that didn't exist in '63, everything back to normal ready for next week". But between those commitments and Star Trek 2 isn't Abrams spreading himself a little thin now?

I really tried with Fringe..stuck with it for half of the first season, but it never really hooked me. Each to their own with this kind of thing though I guess!

So does lightning exist in this series?? It won't if no electricity exists in any form.

Why would engines not work though?? Not all engines need electricity to work anyway - steam engines and earlier internal combustion engines don't need electricity.

Moreover, why does the black guy in the trailer remind me of Barack Obama??

Yeah, that bit makes a lot less sense. After 15 years we would have had plenty of time to return to 1950's mechanical engineering.

Yeah, that is silly, I just assumed they're just using some magical electronics dampening field plot device or whatnot, so I'd be willing to suspend disbelief for that, as physically impossible as it is.

Ah yes, the same field which made the plane stall spiral in such a stupid way, then have a massive fireball?

The same one which added all the lens flare effects in Star Trek no doubt.
