Will the 2D variant be shown at 48FPS as well?
Can't wait! :)
I didn't realise it was going to be in two parts, good stuff! :)
Looking forward to seeing it.
careful, Tolkein is Hobbit forming! I am shameless, no apologies :)
Why did no one - teachers; aunties; uncles; school friends; postman, milkman etc - not tell me about Tolkein when I was a kid!!!
Talking to nowadays contemporaies, they cannot understand how I didn't know about it then!
Looking forward to it too!
I didn't read The Hobbit/LOTR until I was 21. I knew about them, but had never thought of actually reading them.
One of my primary school teachers read us The Hobbit - I think I was about 8 or 9 at the time.
My aunt, on hearing this, sent me a copy of LotR for my birthday. It took a few attempts to get through it but I'm glad I stuck at it. :)
I started reading the hobbit when i was about 9 and then read lord of the rings throughout my gcse`s. Kind of caused problems because I didnt bother reading the books we where supposed to.
I mean who cares about a northern lad with a kestrel when you can be reading about a load of dwarves and elves kicking orc ass :D
^Ha, yes, very true!
I must confess though, I do (now) skip the songs and a lot of the purely Hobbit bits in LotR. Many people condemn me for this but to them I say: meh. :)
There is a lot you can skip, the whole section on Tom Bambadil for instance. He doesn't come up anywhere else in the saga (apart from a fleeting mention of his name at the very end). The films got it right in that regard, no need to include it at all.
The Hobbit is to be a Trilogy with part 1 out Dec 2012, part 2 out Dec 2013 and part 3 TBC....
So stoked, the Hobbit is my favourite childhood book.
I've no idea how they can drag a simple 300 page book out into three films. It's not as if there's that much action in the book so I've gone from really looking forward to this film to dreading it.
