    Dark Knight Rises

    *takes deep breath*

Awesome. There are no more words. Go now, run if needs be and see it as soon as possible

I don't pay to see something in theatres more than once as a general rule but I'll be back down to the local Imax this weekend for a second sitting. Stunning stuff!

Although predictable, twas awesome indeed! I regret not watching the first and second though, probably would have made it even more epic.

    Re: Dark Knight Rises

IME you pretty much always need to book the iMax. We saw tried to see Avatar over a month after release there and we still needed to book it to even stand a chance!

I personally loved it - I do think though that the Dark Knight is a faster tempo/better film - purely due to the Ledger/The Joker

Is Bane as hard to hear as some people are making out, or is it being overblown?

    Re: Dark Knight Rises

I went to see it last night and although I did enjoy it quite a bit (Ann hathaway looked fine ) The way they completely changed Banes Origin story to fit irked me.
The Lack of Venom really miffed me especially as that is the whole point of Bane in the batman universe, They might as well have just used a random Thug instead

    Re: Dark Knight Rises

They kept enough of Banes origin to keep me happy, I can do without venom leading to more Joel Schumacher style nonsense to be honest. I was just happy to see the character portrayed as more of a tactician/mastermind than pure hired muscle, although the "twist" did erode that a little.. Still, considering Hardy was following Ledgers Joker I thought he did a bang up job.

    Re: Dark Knight Rises

I went to see this last night, and while I enjoyed it a lot, there were some plot holes and things that annoyed me. I can't say much without spoilers.

    \/ Hilight for spoilers \/
Bane got hold of Batman's vehicles and weapon designs. When they were shooting Batman they had no effect but one shot from Batman was enough to blow them up.

They said the bomb had a 6 mile blast radius. Helicopters can only fly around 180mph at the most. With less than two minutes to go, that means Gotham would be on the edge of the blast radius. Then there's the area around that which would be incinerated, and another area around that which would be contaminated with radiation. People were looking directly at the blast without being blinded.

    /\ /\

There were some other things but I can't remember what they were now.

What I like about the Nolan films is that they're kind of believable. Scarecrow was a normal person with some noxious gas. Joker was just a nut job who wore make up. Bane was a muscle man who had to wear some kind of ventilator. The older Batman movies were kind of ridiculous and too far fetched. Sure, some of the technology and concepts of the Nolan films are unlikely but they're within the bounds of believability.

Kind of being the correct phrase.

I think Christopher Nolan is awesome -have gone through the back catalogue and found myself very impressed with how things can be interpreted in different ways.

It's a shame that they're already talking about rebooting the franchise already.

But on the film itself = GREAT!

I have to admit I was kinda disappointed by the film, maybe I was just spoilt after Ledgers outstanding performance.

Bane turned out a lot better than I was expecting! Movie was indeed fairly predictable but it certainly has it's surprises.
