Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
This weekend I have been mostly watching...
Olympus Has Fallen - A gripping story about Koreans taking over the White House and making various demands of the US Government. It's down to Gerrard Butler (who for the first time I actually could tolerate) to take down the remaining terrorists and free the president (and his boy). 8/10
Oblivion - Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise in a film about Tom Cruise. No, actually it's a pretty good film. There's some excellent effects in there, the story has a great plot twist, and despite there being TWO Tom Cruise on screen at one point in the film, it's still very watchable and I enjoyed it. 7.5/10
Blade Runner - After it being mentioned at a BBQ on Thursday night, I thought it only appropriate that I go back and watch Blade Runner with a sober mind and the ability to concentrate. Two things I very much lacked when I watched Blade Runner originally. A BluRay rendition later and I was reminded that this is easily one of the best sci-fi films of all time and the effects still hold up well today. Though I did notice the Coca-Cola advertising being a lot more blatant than I remember. 9.5/10
The Purge - So I thought it was an interesting concept after initially seeing TV Adverts so I gave it a go. I was disappointed only 20 minutes in after there was the most vague and brief of scene setting, there was little explanation as to why the purge was required and it seemed to do no more than set the scene for a mediocre thriller with only one main set (a suburban house). I switched it off about an hour in and I'd give it 2/10

Lawless: Top notch moonshine/prohibition yarn. Tom Hardy and Mike from Neighbours were both very good. Guy Pearce seems to do evil very well...

The conjuring ..............Amityville meets the exorcist 6.5/10

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Watched 'White Chicks' with my girlfriend the other day for the umpteenth time, never gets old!
The Wayan brothers are cracking actors :)
Might not be the best film for effects, but it will definitely make you laugh :D
8/10

The Possession. 6/10
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0431021/?ref_=sr_1
It was a recommendation on Netflix, not bad. Interesting to know it was based on a true story.
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Dark Skies - Typical American Alien Thriller (6/10)
Olympus Has Fallen - American Action - Far Fetched and annoying plot but the scenes and acting were pretty good. (7.5/10)
Monster University - Kids Film telling the early story of Mike and Sullies friendship. On par with #1 imho (8.5/10)
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Watched Only god forgives, it was decent to say the least but a disappointment for a Gosling film
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Hit and run......7/10.....worth a watch. ;)
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Happened to watch a Harry Potter movie on sat. Forgot how good that all are.
I feel a box set marathon happening soon.
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Went to watch "The Conjuring" last night, was good but predictable.
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
I've been on a bit of a Tarantino thing recently - hadn't really paid much attention to his films since Pulp Fiction, but watched Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained in the last couple of weeks. I thought both of them were superb. I'd give them an 8 and 9 respectively.
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Haven't watched that much recently, in the last couple of weeks:
Olympus has Fallen - Not bad, action film with Gerard Butler destroying some Koreans with brutal efficiency, pity has doesn't have his natural accent :(
Pirates! - Enjoyed it, both me and my brother found it very funny, with a decent cast and it looked great :)
Welcome to the Punch - Another action film, once again it's a pity they didn't let the Scot have his accent (James McAvoy), and a couple of times I thought it sounded a little silly, but not bad overall.
Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?
Watched School For Scoundrels tonight (not the quite recent abomination but one recorded from TV the other day). Blimey, they don't make films like this any more. Great fun. Terry Thomas was fantastic.
