Hansel and gretel, awful movie that was a poor action/adventure flick... 2/10 as it did have some element of original writing, even if it was obscured by the terrible filming

Pacific Rim - Decent but expected more after hearing about it from a few people. 5/10
We're the Millers - A bit cheesy but I enjoyed this film quite a lot. 8/10
Elysium - It was a pretty standard action movie for me. 7/10
Prisoners - Awesome movie, one of the best I've seen all year. 9/10
Man of Tai Chi - A decent martial arts movie, nothing special. 6/10
"The conjuring" - 4/10
The usual "true story" which is essentially a hammer house film......can they really get away with prefixing these films as true?

Friday night was The Heat: It was quite entertaining. Melissa McCarthy (sp?) is really funny and seems to make up most of her insults on the spot, and Sandra Bullock actually took quite well to the comedy role. Lots of laugh out loud moments.
Saturday night was The Wolverine. It was OK. Quite slow, and could have predicted the ending from about 1/3 of the way through, but overall quite entertaining. Intriguing whether the end bit is the lead-in to Wolverine 2 or the next X-Men movie...
Watched The Worlds End, it was watchable, but not a patch on SOTD or even Hot Fuzz. Very few funny moments, just seemed to be trying to squeeze in as many references and cameos as possible.
Saw Hunger Games catching fire at the weekend. Ok film, better than the first one. 6/10.
Mr Bean nice one
Watched After Earth and John Carter recently. Both films universally panned big time.
Loved them both! Really don't understand the negativity. After Earth was stylish and exciting. John Carter is a kids film really - but I grew up loving Star Wars ANH etc and it just made me think back to when I was a kid. It was the kind of film I would have been obsessed with when I was 12. Enjoyed it at 29 too![]()
The deperted! gang mans and cop mans ! oh mad film ! must watch
Hunger games. Better watch than the first one.
In the cinema, it was "The Conjuring". Good god, what a terrible movie. There was a part in it (shouldn't be a spoiler) where the two main characters mention someone was found guilty in the Salem witch trials. Rather than go "oh, that poor woman", it's taken for granted that she was, indeed, a witch. Because Medieval paranoid peasants never put a foot wrong in those times.
On Netflix though, it was Retreat, starring Cillian Murphy. It's only got 5.7 on IMDB, but we all know what to think of their ratings. It's actually a very very good film. Very thought provoking, and full of twists that would put early Shyamalan to shame.
Watched Pacific Rim and it was a good film.
Very cheesy in some bit but good action movie none the less. Not the best I have seem but good enough to keep my attention
If you like people mumbling then The Man with the Iron Fists could be your ideal film. If you prefer shouting and crying then why not try Silver Linings Playbook instead?
I found both of these on the current Sky Movies lineup. Had to fast forward a lot.
Byzantium - strange, slow starter, which warmed up in the middle and turned into fairly decent entertainment.
Mrs dragged me out to watch Catching Fire last week. The first film was actually quite good and this sequel (apart from the ending) was good as well, long but no "boring" bits. 7/10
The Man from Nowhere
On a bit of a asian movie binge and watched this yesterday. Very good Taken/Bourne style film with plenty of action & some good acting![]()
