Watched Black Mass last night..average in most respects but with some wonderful miscasting! 5/10
Watched Dressmaker few days ago - very WEIRED plot, really. Actually I am surprised to see there Kate Winslet
Terry Jones' Boom Bust Boom - extremely entertaining - a splendid cast of superstar economists manage to explain economic bubbles in a a way that is accessible and intelligent, without being at all condescending.
New Ghostbusters and despite wanting to hate it, it actually made me laugh. Not sure if it was Hemsworth's idiotic character or just the fact it was plain bad but I laughed.
3/10
Has anybody watched Black Mirror?
I watched Oblivion at the weekend, when it was on the telly. I'd seen it on Amazon on 4k Blu-ray and was considering buying it, but now I won't be. Fairly decent easy-watching drama, with a plot twist that you can see coming a mile off, and another you can see from maybe 1/2 a mile. But with low expectations, quite enjoyable. 6/10
La La Land - chose cinema with superior sound system over art house cinema and I think that I enjoyed the songs more because of that.
Was a bit worried that I was not enjoying the film at all and then Flock of Seagulls followed by other 80's trip came on - but it's my tripe! - and then I switched on and enjoyed the experience.
However, have no idea why anyone thinks that it's worth awards?????????/
Finally got round to watching X-Men Apocalypse on 4k Blu-ray at the weekend, it was OK. Not as good as DOFP, but fairly decent. You can tell that Jennifer thingy is on the last film of her contract, she just looks bored. 4k HDR goody-wise, not as impactful as Life of Pi, but there was some depth there. Haven't seen it on 1080p to be able to compare. 7/10
The new Underworld, wasn't that great. the only one I liked was Rise of the lycans I think as it didn't have Beckinsale in it.
Suicide squad, quite enjoyable, probably a 6.5 out of 10.

I watched Trumbo at the weekend, it's the story of the Hollywood 10, the Hollywood set who got themselves into trouble during the McCarthy witch hunt era. Very good film, 9.5/10. Bryan Cranston is superb in it.
And John Wayne was a total Asshat*.
*He wasn't acting in the film, that would be impossible. He appeared as a character
Oh, and nearly forgot, Lego Batman at the cinema. From what I saw whilst trying to get a 3-year-old to sit still, very enjoyable, with some good 'in-jokes'. 8.5/10
