    Cool Robocops new "Suit"

    Crysis suit anyone?

    http://www.metro.co.uk/film/912326-r...-teaser-poster

    http://www.metro.co.uk/film/912138-r...ins-in-toronto

Im guessing this suit is just for the actor to move in easily and they will tart it up before release.

I liked the first 2 films, hope the reboot is good.

Looks a lot like batman to me
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

That's what I was thinking, needs a can of silver paint applying. I like the actor though (in American version of "The Killing") & he should be good.

I really doubt that the ED209 can withstand a 120MM APFSDS round from an M1 at point blank range without any damage:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M829_%2...iants.23M829A2

The penetrator can go through ERA equipped tanks.

Also I doubt the 0.50 caliber would be able to defeat the armour, in the frontal arc of a Chobham armour equipped tank. Maybe, the Hellfire missile it carries but the video shows the guns firing.

It seems the new ED209 is firing unobtanium bullets and has unobtanium armour.

    Re: Robocops new "Suit"

Nu-ED209 looks a pile of fail.

It was meant to be an Enforcement Droid in the original movie. The whole point of it not being mahoosive is that actually can do enforcement within cities - it was meant to compete with the Robocop programme,as a one sized fits all replacement for many pieces of equipment. The fact that it was so fail at everything, was the flipping joke,as it was being used for things which it was clearly not suited for.

It reminds me of those US adverts for those all in one household appliances. Its not surprising if you see what Verhoeven did with the film. Remember the car advert and the fun poked at SDI too??

Now Nu-ED209 is BIGGER,BETTER and HEAVIER(tm). Its so BADASS,Robocop will need to throw an M1 at it. I wonder what sized streets will they need to operate the BIGGER,BETTER and HEAVIER(tm) ED209 in??

I suppose it will give an excuse for the filmmakers, for Nu-ED209 to be destroying whole city blocks with massive explosions when it goes after Nu-Robocop. Then Nu-Robocop will drop a building on it after using his handheld fusion laser X-Ray canon(tm).

The original film took the mickey out of the OTT culture and this one will probably embrace it,without realising the irony.

I just hope at least if they are going to remove all the humour in the film, they at least concentrate on the human aspects of Murphy being converted into a cyborg.

However, what I can see is loads of explosions and tons of CGI.

    Re: Robocops new "Suit"

Joe Padhilla, the director, has some decent movies under his belt and as I see it understands the commentary that the original film was going for. The problem is that the studio are bound to interfere and want a stabdard action flick, ignoring the subtext that was so prevalent in Verhoeven's film.

I was somewhat interested in this, purely for Padhilla's involvement, but my interest levels are falling away quickly. The new suit looks terrible, assuming it's a "stunt" suit of some kind as well.

    Robocop

They should name this remake Rubbercop!!

Suit looks pretty crap, don't like it at all. You can see the batman influences with it.

Robocop is one of those films that shouldn't be remade, its an iconic 80's film.

I would have been happier if they just took the original, redone the effects and models etc, tidied the picture up to high def standards and rereleased it.

Yup, they should take a cue from Batman.. if aint broke doont fix it..

Compare that to the guy who did IMO best Gotham city & bat mobile for Batman 89 film ( Anton Furst ) ,or someone like H R Gigers stuff.

Im not even going to bother watching it , I find the suit so foul.

Robocop was all about the suit, if the suit is crap then the whole character is poor.

I loved how his leg opened up and out came his gun. It was believable as his whole makeup was brilliant. He actually looked like a robot where the new suit looks like...... Well a man in a suit.

    Re: Robocops new "Suit"

I think we all agree the suit looks a cheap imitation of a batman ripoff with a motorcycle helmet plopped ontop.

So how the BEEP did it ever get approved ????
