My other half could not stop read it, she seemed to really enjoy it. I am half tempted to borrow it from her just to see what all the fuss is about.
Anyone got thoughts on the latest craze 'mummy porn'?

From a Facebook friend who says it better than I can:
http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/340987215Apparantly, only 20% of the population still reads novels. So, when the <bleep> is the publishing world going to stop trying to convince the 1% of that 20 % who read literature that this sort of utter, utter, utter drivel should not be fed to that 20% of the mass herd who attempt to read at all.
It is a really low cheap marketing trip to spin to the herd that Shades of Grey is something exciting and thrilling that will make a good, taboo read. Why? Because the herd will believe it, buy it and then the market for this crap will just continue in its ever increasing circular trap!
I thought that the '<beep>light' saga had hit the slime at the bottom of the literary barrel, but I was so, so wrong. Now, this review should be read and appreciated because it was composed by somebody from that 1% who had the gut-renching courage to actually read Shades of Grey. The poor man, it must have been traumatic, I know I do not have that sort of strength.

It condones abusive relationships.
This material should not be on sale in supermarkets and promoted in the way it has been.
In fact, thinking about it, it should never have been published in the first place.
try 50 Shades of Grey instead. It's an awesome book!
Was it not just one woman's fantasy to be treated like a slave? [Just going by what I have heard so far] However I have also heard that if this book been written by a man, things would have been very different! It would have been an out-cry be women's rights groups and hate/death threats being sent to the author...
My missus started reading it and gave up after a few chapters because it was so very badly written
It started life as Twilight fan fiction, apparently.
That alone is a good enough reason to never read it, as far as I'm concerned.
A friend of mine has read all 3 books a multitude of times, everyone in her work place has borrowed it from her. All her and my friends on face book read it quoting sections. She tells me its porn in a novel. It has spread like wildfire. Then knowing what the novel contains I had to just "smile and wave" seeing it on my mums (64) coffee table.
I read one paragraph (not even a dirty one!) and laughed because it was so badly written. Shockingly, appallingly badly written... Utterly woeful.
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
if I may be so bold gentlemen (and gay ladies)
if your wife/partner/girlfriend chooses to read this rubbish... don't mock them.
Because in my work colleagues experiences... the sex starts soon after Ch8 and I don't mean the sex in the book.
never mock something that turns out a result...... even if it is tacky on first appearance.
Gift Horse.... mouth.

I will put my hand up and say: I have read it.
There. Now seriously, it takes half the book before anything happens, then what comes is some of the most unerotic writing I have ever read. I'd have been better off buying Club, or Razzle. The mistake I made, if Zak is telling the truth about his colleagues (his) experiences, was moaning to my wife about how rubbish it is. Now she'll never read it...
Edit: Oh, and do girls really refer to 'Down There'(c) EL James as 'My Sex'? My wife laughed when I read that to her...
