    Depends what you want b0redom.

If you want stuff similar to Walking dead the revival was pretty good, DMZ is an awesome series which has finished now so you can get the full run without wondering if they'll cancel

Chew is awesome and is ongoing.

There are of course the Standard books everyone should read like Watchmen which is really good.

Grant morrison has done some really awesome stuff like the invisibles which was an awesome series but last year he finally did The Multiversity comics(all about the 52 univises within the dc world) I'm reading it atm and so far it's pretty cool

Thanks Kopite, I'll give some of them a go. I quite liked the premise of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (but the film was rubbish) and Alien vs Predator (same), I might see if those were any good.

I like the way that the Walking Dead is a bit dark and unpredictable, even darker than the TV series so far! You never know if a major character is about to get offed.

Yeah the Walking Dead comic is really dark.

After finishing the first book I was thinking this cant much darker and then I read the next and thought ok but it cant get much darker than that can it ? hehe Well Written though

There was an interview years ago with Robert kirkham and he said that the only person he wasn't likely to kill was Karl

The League of Extraordinary gentlemen comics are good. Alan Moore is a great writer. V for vendetta is a good book as well. Much better than the film

In fact Most of Alan Moore's stuff is worth a read.

JUst thought Transmetropolitan is an awesome series as well It's basically a futuristic version of Hunter S thompson

If you want non superhero stuff, Joe the Barbarian is great, as is Scott Pilgrim. You might also take a look at Y the Last man if you like dystopian futures stule stuff.

In a more superheroy but different style Ex Machina (Mayor of new york gets super powers, hijinx ensues), and Tom Strong.

Head down to your local comic book store and talk to the likely insanely knowledgeable dude behind the counter. Probably also worth looking at your local library. Trades get expensive fast, even if they're still in print. I had (until I read everything in greater manchester pretty much) 4 or 5 a week out.

Just to echo everyone else if you haven't read Watchmen or Return of the Dark Knight read them now.

The walking dead comic is epic, different and darker than the TV show and more unpredictable.
Negan is a truely awesome character, looking forward to the next TV series with him.

If your into to slightly more adult comics, I don't mean the kind you find on dodgey sites just a different kind of fun then battle pope is a good choice, I've also started to read ones like judge dress and walking dead after the TV/movies of them and ois interesting to see the sotires in a different way.
