    I went to see Iain do a reading of Stonemouth, he was so enthusiastic - such an entertaining evening.
    Struggling to finish reading Stonemouth since he announced his illness.
    Two of my favourite authors in one week - Sharpe and Banks.
    Bit concerned, as the only books I installed at my partners house last year are for four authors - Sharpe, Banks, Pratchett and Matthew Reilly (he seems well).
    Hopefully some Culture books will get turned into well adapted films.

    Not one of my favourite authors, but one I've still enjoyed over the years. I will miss his work, and my sympathy goes to his family, friends and fans.

    I`ve never read any of his books but always saw them on the shelves in book shops and in the best seller lists so he must have been pretty good.
