    Ageing Festival Junkie

About four years ago I went to my first music festival....and now I seem hooked. I am trying to do three this year. Now at 56 years old, I do look a picture with face paint on in the mosh pit . And I have met many an older "rocker" at festivals. One particular couple in their late 60's had sold their house bought a campervan and were travelling around as many festivals as they could manage in the Summer. In the Winter they rent a house and do odd jobs to earn enough to pay for the next Summer's fun....what a life!

Anyone other oldies enjoying music thsi way?

Friends of ours, a couple at 54 & 59, are huge death metal fans. Every summer and occasionally in autumn they're off to Sweden, Denmark and Finland. And here in Norway of course. I don't think they're ready to sell their home, but they are certainly active as Hell.

Me, I'm just 38, but I hope I'm still that avid (rabid) at their age.

Not really an oldie just yet, I'm a regular at Download Festival though, usually work a couple every year too. This year I reviewed Slam Dunk Festival and I'm off to review Bloodstock Open Air in a few weeks

I'm originally from Shrewsbury, been to the folk festival a couple times and my Dad often works it

On topic I have quite a few friends who still go to festivals with their 60+ parents. Ok they don't spend the whole festival with them but its cool to catch up. I've chatted with them plenty of times and they still make time for 2-3 rock/metal festivals a year, 1 normally UK and 1-2 in Europe

I've never been to festival ... I thought the only reason folk went was the opportunity for drugs and promiscuous s.x
