watching movies on a projector

How can you tell what projector quality is like by watching a you tube video on some other device?

The big difference is the screen you use.
You can purchase the best projector in the worlds but if you put it on a rubbish screen, you will never be happy

It comes down to budget really.

If you get a nice 1080p projector and are projecting onto a decent surface you're going to get good quality, if you buy a cheap <720p projector and project onto a bad surface it's not going to be great

I've personally got a 720p projector at home, which I picked up a couple of years ago, and a screen (no idea how it compares to others) and we enjoy it. Since I'm not currently living at home it very rarely gets used since it's more hassle to set up than the TV, but it's been great when we have used it

Something to consider is speakers, since you may need to buy some, and what you're going to be using as your source.

I dont have a TV, just a Epson TW-5900 projector and a wall. Works great for me.
