    Re: Vikings!

Yeah I started watching when season 1 was coming out and it is really great. The story never stops for a break so you can't really miss an episode (never mind a season!), who knew Discovery channel could put out a TV show that in my opinion matches top shows like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead in quality.

Only part I find weird is when the Vikings and the **SPOILER** English meet and to the audience they are both speaking English but to each other different languages.

    Re: Vikings!

Yeh this was a gem of a show for anybody who likes Game of Thrones, Rome etc. The main character and his brother are well developed characters and I am intrigued to see how the raids to England continue ( Despite knowing the references to the 'historical' figure~)

Agree, Season 1 was pretty good, but season 2 is brilliant. Only 2 more episodes to go after fridays

Yes and no! It does have some violent bits but there spaced out in most parts I would say, where as Spartacus seemed to have blood and guts spilling every few minutes. Its well worth a watch!!

    Re: Vikings!

The violence is very dumbed down, which is a shame IMO and the main thing that lets it down. We are dealing with Vikings raiding England....I am pretty sure it was considerably more brutal than the way the show portrays it.

    Re: Vikings!

I still haven't watched season 2, but from what I recall off season 1 it was pretty violent, it wasn't quite as gratuitous as spartacus, but then that wouldn't really have fit with either the plot or the aesthetic.
