Transformers Age of Extinction
I saw the trailer to this movie just yesterday, and it looks awesome, but there are going to be a few things that I won't really like about it. For one, there's an entirely new cast of main characters, besides the transformers. Also, the voice of Optimus Prime, who also may be referred to as Orion Pax, isn't going to be voiced by the same person. I forget his name, but yeah, NO MORE HIM. This new guy better be good. Mark Wahlberg, who plays as a character called Cade Yeager, I think is a good choice, and Nicola Peltz, who plays as his daughter looks pretty hot. Anyway, I'm sort of biased to like the movie anyway since I'm a transformers lover. What do you think of it?
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
I'm not really into Transformers - but saw the first two films and I think they were roughly what I expected, i.e. big, shouty and a bit of fun.
Are they considering this a sequel or a reboot?

Sequel.
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
Just realised I missed out a fairly crucial word in my previous post - my main point was that I didn't really get into it as a kid but the films are decent for what they are.
It seems a bit strange to me to try to do a sequel with a brand new cast and fiddling around with Optimus Prime - probably would've been better as a reboot, but they've not really left it long enough to genuinely look at it from a fresh perspective. I can't help feeling it's going to wind up being an awkward compromise of the two.

In a way, I feel the same. I have this weird feeling that they're going to just start the movie off all randomly without explaining what the hell happened to Sam, and just begin with an epic introduction. I feel the story won't be very great, but certainly the movie itself will be fantastic. Bumblebee looks beautiful!

You probably already know but he was the original voice (Peter Cullen) in the cartoon series and as it turned out, eeyore in winnie the pooh! (Realised this when being forced to watch this with daughter..).
On one hand we get optimus prime that actually looks like he should (at least as a truck) and on the other his voice isn't original. First the faces of the turtles and now this!
lol!

LOL! THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!. JK, it's all good. So, you gonna see Age of Extinction?
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
The other films where a bit of fun really. General action films with intense special effects. Enjoyable and easy to watch but not good quality story lines.
The main problem i have with them is Shia Ledouche. He is probably my most hated person in Hollywood; he's the same whinny pain in the arse in every film (Except Lawless... i like him in that)

Thankyou! Needed a good chuckle this morning :)
I enjoyed the first movies more than I thought, but in general find them too action intensive without any time to breath and work out whats going on. Maybe that's a good thing, as it could reveal what little plot there actually is.
Will wait until it's on Netflix to watch.

Heh, Shia wouldn't want to read this thread. I agree with you my friend, its a good thing they got rid of him, but as I said before, I hope they explain what happens to Sam in Age of Extinction.

That'll be a 5 year wait then :P
I'm looking forward to the new one, since they're good cinema films - one where you can just relax and watch without having to worry about what you've missed in the story. Plus, the effects are brilliant!

I can handle 5 years.
Maybe it's just me but I think a movie should have a natural ebb and flow in the action so that you can absorb what's going on but the Transformer series doesn't give you that instead rushing from action sequence to action sequence with albeit stunning visuals without any time to take stock and work out why character X is rushing about like a headless chicken
phew...
Anyway, with a 20 month little cherub at home, me and the missus are resigned to the fact we won't be visiting the cinema for a few good years yet!
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
Skipped Transformers 2 but been burned twice on the others. Fool me once...
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
Is it just me or I think Transformers: Age of Extinction is an emotional-drama movie. Minus the plot and into the background of the Yeager's family?. Hehe
Re: Transformers Age of Extinction
I was expecting a bit more from the Dinobots rather than appearing for the last 15 minutes of the movie. I didnt quite like how Michael Bay decided to shut out most the sound effects towards the end and have the musical score overlaying either
