favorite book store?
what's your favorite bookstore? or place to get books.
i have a couple favorites.
one is actually a thrift store. they carry a decent selection, depending on your taste that is. but they do have a variety of selection. don't expect to find anything brand spanking new. you can find a lot of old how-to computer books, like help books for windows 98, but yeah. a thrift store.
and a 2nd and charles sub-geek-culture store i guess. they have books and a lot of merch. merch for stuff like starwars, comics, doctor who, etc.

Re: favorite book store?
Waterstones, because a friend works there.
These days, I mostly go with eBooks, so Amazon is the usual. The only time I get to read is when waiting on something like large file transfers and I don't like risking my books getting soaked on the bike, so it's whatever I can get on my phone (Kindle app).
That said, I do also collect Armed Services Editions, so always have a couple plastic-bagged for when I'm laid up in a foxhole or shell scrape.

Amazon usually. However, when I have time I enjoy going through antique shops checking the books they have for any gems I might find. Not only can you find some fantastic books but I love when they have a personal note r other scribbled inside, maybe from when the books was gifted or whatever. Little piece of history. :)

Re: favorite book store?
i haven't heard of the couple stores named, aside from amazon. probably due to location.
i just hit up the thrift store today and i just noticed a book sale they were having. fill a grocery sized bag with soft cover books for $2. so i got quite a few awesome (imo) books. :D haven't gone over them thoroughly yet, but i know i at least got some good toilet material. :)

Re: favorite book store?
I only know amazon.Have to say the people on amazon tend to rate all the books too high.I don't take their recommendations seriously anymore.I'd be interested to know your favourite.

Re: favorite book store?
I loved Borders, but they closed it down. Could quite happily spend hours in there reading (and buying) and drinking coffee. There are a couple of 2nd hand bookstores around Edinburgh that are worth a gander but nowhere that I feel comfortable kicking back for a couple of hours.
Amazon is my go to shop, never mind bookshop. My kindle is used extensively (i still love real books but convenience is everything) and I buy a great many things from it, but I miss scanning the spines of books, looking for a name or a title to jump out at me, and flicking through a few pages to see if I like the writing style.
