Whats the longest series you've owned and watched all the way through?

41 episodes and I have one disc, with 3 left.

It's taken nearly two years...but it's been superb througout, with weak episodes, bad image quality and genius moments :)

Whats the longest series you've watched?

Seen a lot on TV but actually owned I'd say it would have to be Sharpe. Was given the box set (prior to the newest releases) and although there are only 14 episodes in that set, they are all an hour and a forty minutes long.

Band of brothers... though I made an epic fail and din't notice the blue rays I'd been given were double sided.....so I only watched the odd numbered episodes ;) It took me a while to realise why there was such massive plot gaps.

Given the 'all the way through' descriptor it's probably BSG. But longest still going is big bang theory.

Buffy, 7 series, close on 150 episodes. Don't think Big Bang has exceeded that yet (and I haven't watched the latest series anyway).

Currently working through Friends though - all 10 series - which will trump that when I've finished. Unless we're counting Angel as being part of Buffy, since they're same continuity and have cross-overs.... ;)

Star Trek, Buffy, Sex and the City, Charmed... I dunno.
We have a fair few US series, which always seem to be about 7 seasons of 24 episoides.

Battlestar Galactica is pretty long.

I own and have watched all the Stargate series (Universe I don't own but have watched) so I guess that totals 354 episodes (SG1/SGA/SGU) + 3 films.

The West Wing - some of the best TV.

Original Stargate? Currently slowly making my way through SG: Atlantis on Netflix but the going is slow due to becoming a dad. Don't think I'll ever have the time to sit and watch half a series at a time like I use to... (unless I'm off sick from work maybe and the family is out!).

The "you've owned" caveat makes this a little easier seeing as by and large I don't buy TV series DVDs, primarily because most of the ones I would watch again are still on a channel somewhere.

Would have been Breaking Bad but haven't got round to picking up season 4 yet...

I guess the longest would be possibly 24, or maybe Friends or Fraiser? Plenty of other series, but they from memory seemed to be the longest.

star trek - original, next gen, voyager, DS9, enterprise, animated, all the films, watched the lot, most at least twice
stargate - atlantis, SG1, universe,
random US series - Spartacus, breaking bad, sopranos,

me and my sister own the above.

not watched yet - 24 all the series, lost, benny hill, plus whatever my dads got cheap from ebay/amazon

uncles got nearly a thousand DVDs, dads got a fair few hundred too. they're both retired and enjoying their hard earned money so why not? theres many many more I cant be bothered listing.

helps not having any social life because I cant be bothered, happy by myself.

I have every season of 24 but I've not made it past series three yet.... See this is easy for me. I used to work nights so I have every episode of Friends, Frasier, The Shield, The X Files, Soprano's, Teachers... You name it! Favourite one though, for a long time? Blackadder :D

Supernatural atm I think, 8 series and counting. I have missed the occasional episode of friends or that would be up there.

I tend to get involved in a series and watch it from start to finish or at least the season finale before starting on something new. recently watched TBBT from start to finish again.

Some series I think tend to go on too long, quite literally losing the plot and viewers. Stargate was one of those, Bones another. Supernatural peaked at 5 seasons and while still fun, its lots a lot of its edge. Sons of Anarchy at 7th and final season is probably just right. Lost at 6 was too long. The Good Wife, currently at 5, is still gripping.

I got a TiVo in 2000, so tended not to miss things, so didn't usually buy series on DVD.

These days with Netflix I actively avoid cluttering the house with extra DVDs.

Annoyingly now the kids are getting older I would actually spend money on buying Animaniacs on disc. I don't understand why something that funny isn't shown any more, or available in any decent affordable form.

Overall, I have watched Friends beginning to end which must be approx 240 episodes, although they're only 20 minutes or so each.

As for one sitting, well there's no competition - MLP.

To anyone that has had to sit through a single minute of Barney the Dinosaur, Google "animaniacs the anvil song" for something much better. It should searchable on YouTube. For it not to be available on DVD is frankly a crime :D

Ugly Betty - a guilty pleasure but i watched (and enjoyed) every one - clocks in at 85 episodes

Friends-Still watch random episodes.
The Sopranos and Dexter, of which I had to force myself to watch the last season because it went downhill

Only Fools and Horses. Gets funnier every time you watch.

Desperate Housewives

I don't own breaking bad - but it was on Netflix, and I watched all of it - wasn't long compared to alot of other shows, but for this one I think it was just right!

Otherwise I don't think I have watch any shows all the way through...

The US Office is probably the longest I've owned, 9 seasons in total - I have up to S7 on DVD/BluRay, but have seen them all - with over 20 episodes per season (other than S1 with just 6).

Can easily watch 3 or 4 of these in a sitting, they are fantastic

Stargate SG1 (Fond memories) and Atlantis.

SGU was a epic fail, it was 90210 in space, so boring. Stopped watching after the first 3 episodes

Constantine is a decent punt, not as good as Supernatural

For me that'd be the following:

The Shield - 7 Series / 88 Episodes.

The Sopranos - 6 Series / 86 Episodes.

Loved every minute of both those shows. Currently catching up on Fringe, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad etc etc. Mixture of DVD/Blu-Ray and Netflix. Phew!

I have enjoyed a number of series:

Sharpe, Buffy, SG-1 - I recently started watching via A. Prime - so all series of The West Wing was great!

The Saint , Dad's Army and the World At War :)

Watched about 3 or 4 episodes each night in bed :0 Though it may not count but now watching the trekky stuff on freesat and Dallas :)

Like csgohan4, I tend to watch 3 and then decide.

Just remembered that I am currently watching Bones. I'm not really sure why, some friends kept raving about it and I found it so bad that I kept watching. Over 200 episodes. Oh my god !!

Scrubs was quite long, I watched the whole series in about a month.

Watched? Lots of long ones, mainly anime (Bleach: 366 Episodes for example)
