ID me the similar sounding intro if you can..
On revisiting a few playlists it's starting to nag at me that the opening bars of The Package/A Perfect Circle are reminding me of something else.. Whether something I've heard more recently, or I'm only now noticing, I dunno, also whether it's an intro or just a part thereof. Also no idea if it's something I like/hate, or whether it should be familiar, or I just.. heard it somewhere random..
Can't get anywhere with it either way, so any ideas.. ta. :)

I know what you mean, but I think its just the random spanish guitar sounds a bit like other stuff.

if you are talking about R.E.M. A perfect circle from their murmur album. then that's a bit like 'bette davis eyes' by Kim Cairnes
only a bit mind. :)
not got an mp3 of 'the package' to check.

It's certainly possible, tho I get the sense of it (the 'it' I am trying to remember, I mean) being nearly the same notes maybe bar a slight difference, which I perhaps wouldn't get if it was that. Sort of.

It's a bit like 'Free' by Ultra Nate... a bit :)

It is quite similar, good suggestion :) unfortunately I don't think it is it though. :( Based on it\'s not known/familiarly enough for me to think I\'d have it in my memory, & it didn\'t make me go \'yes that\'s it\'. And I think what I\'m thinking of will make me do that, if I hear it.

Something has crawled out of the recesses of my cranium. :D

Pitch in around 0.44 for what (to me untrained musical ear) is a near enough similarity to those notes; pretty sure this is what I've been fishing around for.
One less thing to ponder in the wee small hours, & I can listen to the original track without knitting my eyebrows. :)
