Re: Favourite book quotes!!
About half the text from Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein.
Loads of lines from Shakespeare too, but especially Hamlet.
"I am but mad North by North-West, when the wind is Southerly. I know a hawk from a handsaw".
Re: Favourite book quotes!!
Just off the top of my head/lightweight, so to speak - "I believe that one defines oneself by re-invention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone." Henry Rollins, Do I Come Here Often?
Beyond that, be it literary or less highbrow, not quotes so much, as most 'favourites' are more likely to be chunks/chapters/works rather than lines (also mind instantly goes a blank when asked stuff like this - on any subject).
Re: Favourite book quotes!!
i know its a steve jobs quote but i like the one that is
"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Have you ever heard the expression: Walk a mile in my shoes, and then judge me? And write your own books.

Re: Favourite book quotes!!
One of my favourites is probably familiar to anyone who's ordered a book from Wordery before, and comes from Haruki Murakami's, Norwegian Wood. "If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking."
