    Warcraft

I saw a trailer for the upcoming Warcraft when we were watching Starwars...

Ive never played WoW, and only a few Warhammer RTS's but damn this looks pretty good. The fella that plays Ragnar in "Vikings" is in it too.

    Re: Warcraft

I saw trailer during the blizzcon stream and looks interesting. From what i've seen so far the cgi on the orcs is a little off putting they look less like orcs more like humans with orc masks on, but hopefully that doesnt annoy me too much when watching

    Re: Warcraft

Knowing that blizzard is somehow involved in making of the movie makes me think it's gonna suck, especially knowing how much they ruined the game over the years.
They have always had really awesome cinematics in their games, and often ahead of the time. But if that's gonna be the case in here, then we can hardly call it "a movie", especially since there are orcs, taurens, griffins, trolls and what not.

Didn't they also create the original game? It must have been good to be able to be ruined later

    Re: Warcraft

    4 months on.
Seen the film yesterday (this morning) in IMAX 3D.
Absolutely loved it! I am a fan of Warcraft although i've not played WoW for a quite few years I was still excited to see the film and can safely say it's not a failure .
A mate came who hasn't played the games and he liked it to so not just being a fanboy .

    Re: Warcraft

It was an awesome film - really good if you are a Warcraft fan

It's important to emphasise the "Warcraft" bit though - not "World of Warcraft". Although WoW fans who never played the original games will get a lot out of it, the film is very much set at the beginning of Orcs & Humans, a long time before any of the WoW storylines (and remember WOD is an alternate timeline, even if it features similar characters).

If I wasn't a fan of the lore though I don't think I would have enjoyed it that much - it was, in essence, a 2 hour long portrayal of early Warcraft lore (with a few changes for cinematic effect, such as Dalaran being a floating city in the film, when it should have been firmly on the ground at that time) made for the fans.

I really hope they make a few more of these, it really brings the stories to life in a way that the games and books can't, and they did a great job imo

    Re: Warcraft

Due to Blizzard has nothing to do with movies, just cinematics, I can say that it's a movie you have to watch. Either if you are a lore lover or not, just to have your own opinion.
I played Warcraft II, III, Frozen Throne before WoW, where i started day 1. As Spud1 said above, its a movie made for fans. If you're a new to all these, or if your bf/gf tells you to join him/her for that night and you know nothing... You might get a bit disappointed about the movie and the noise about it.

If you're not a fan of Warcraft it's another sci-fi movie, not as good as people say.

Either way go see the movie if you still havent! 4k and max 3D versions were great!
