Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
I just watched it tonight and it was everything I expected, in a good way, really, it's awesome!
I've not read the comics so can't comment on the similarities but it seems to be the same humour and action that I gather is in them.
It's totally deserving of its decent review scores!
Morena doesn't seem to have aged since Firefly either, in fact quite the opposite and as for Mr Reynolds... Cracking performance!
I'll never look at a unicorn the same way again..

Just how the X-Men universe should be like :)
Fantastic film on half the budget of the other films !

Reynolds makes this film.
Exactly what I was hoping for and expecting. Irreverent as hell and doesn't take itself seriously in the slightest. One of the few films I'm happy to pay cinema prices to go to see.

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves it's own thread") thread
Did anyone else stick around until after the credits for the extra snippet?

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves it's own thread") thread
I did yes, I was hoping for more though!

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves it's own thread") thread
I wanted to mention something deadpool mentioned in that snippet - but now i'm thinking thats a bit of a spoiler. It all looked a little thrown in last minute

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
Damn I left as the cinema lights came up and missed the snippet at the end. did I miss anything worthwhile?

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
Nah, about 15 seconds worth that is probably plastered over YouTube already I'd say

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves it's own thread") thread
I Knew it was coming, has to wait a while though! half of the cinema left by the time it came up. Glad I waited!

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
Half the cinema? Usually I find myself the only one left after the credit (for this movie there was only one other person).
I enjoyed the movie, but found the last battle to be not that memorable. I guess that the bad guy never came across as a credible threat.
I was amused that a mother and very young daughter sitting next to me left within 20min of the movie starting. Guess it wasn't what the mum expected!

You managed to confuse me there, was certain that Nathan Fillion wasn't in the film.
I watched on its release night and also found it to be great, the cinema was full, with all of the seats pre-booked and people being turned away at the door.
The whole audience was laughing throughout the movie and it was a great experience.
Definitely going to buy the Blu-ray and watch it again.

This might be a bold statement to make, considering all the superhero films that have come out, but In IMO Deadpool was the best Superhero film to date. Spiderman(2) comes in at a close second

Really? None of the spiderman films were particularly good, the first one (2002) was pretty decent but it has been all downhill since.

^ Likewise - Even got the Mrs into it!!

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
I watched it at the weekend and while I did on-the-whole enjoy it, I thought the jab at formulaic cast line-ups at the beginning (which it then did itself) and the mentioning of other Marvell films really wasn't needed....as much as this was a comedy, there was still a level of suspense of belief that was stomped all over a few times (which is a real pet peeve of mine!).

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
Me + Mrs watched this last night. The background story was well told, but the bad guy wasn't big/powerful enough for my liking, and I was expecting massive overblown battles every 5 minutes, but there was a lot less than the trailers led me to expect. Appreciated the more mature content, was odd for a Marvel film.
Some very funny spots, I'd give it a 7/10

Re: Deadpool (or the "seriously, this deserves its own thread") thread
It's not a Marvel film :p
Fox owns the film rights for X-men and mutant related heroes / villains (though there is some overlap with Marvel e.g Quicksilver & Scarlett Witch). They also have Fantastic 4, but we won't talk about that as those films never happened. That being said there are now rumours that we may get a Marvel / Fox crossover in a similar fashion to Marvel / Sony and Spiderman.

The guy was a joke. A joke with a very nice... lady by his side!
Loved the movie and the humor! Though it was mostly a comedy instead of action.

Great movie! Really hope there is a sequel, I haven't laughed so much in ages, I have watched it twice now and is defiantly in my top 10 movie list!
