Felt like making a discussion page for anyone's favourite TP, RIP, characters!
Personally, got to go with death, just the way he has to go out to get a curry with Mort! Just brilliant!
Anyone have anything to say that can sway me from that?

Rincwind for me, I associate quite strongly with a failed academic.
Haha
Very entertaining character
Single handedly burning down a city is hopefully not something anyone in our world will ever acomplish ;)
Cut-Me-Own-Throat-Dibbler
ulitmate character.... I know him in many guises in real life and it's viable.. I might be him too ;)
Archchancellor Munstrum Ridcully for me. I use some of his techniques when dealing with work emails. I also like the way he comes across as a bumbling idiot, but is actually quiet shrewd.
DEATH.
The most human character.
Corporal/Captain Carrot, cos he knows he's the rightful king, but decides to maintain the status quo, knowing that Vetinari and Vimes also know who he is. And he gets to be with Angua.
Oh, but then there's Vetinari. Hmm. Difficult one.
Oook? :O_o1:
No love for the Librarian?
There are many, but Vimes, Death and Vetinari are right up there.
Death is definitely my favourite but I do love the books based around the watch and Coporal Nobby and his cohorts are absolutely awesome.
Death, definitively Death, or Susan.
I always found Rincewind annoying. Still got about half of the books to read though, started on a new branch and need to read Going Postal (although the Sky series was good so I know some characters already)
DEATH & SusanQuote:
“All right,” said Susan. “I’m not stupid. You’re saying humans need… fantasies to make life bearable.”
REALLY? AS IF IT WAS SOME KIND OF PINK PILL? NO. HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE.
“Tooth fairies? Hogfathers? Little—”
YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.
“So we can believe the big ones?”
YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.
“They’re not the same at all!”
YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME…SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.
“Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what’s the point—”
MY POINT EXACTLY.”
― Terry Pratchett, Hogfather
Bloody Stupid Johnson, though I'm not sure you can really call him a character...
I stand by Cut me Own Throat....
but to get my point across, I stand UPON the Luggage
Sir Samual Vimes, of all the characters in the Discworld series, watching his evolution from a failure into a success really speaks volumes to me.
Is it odd that I love the books but would hate to be ANY of the characters? Except Ridcully, perhaps.
I have too many!
Nobby Nobbs, DEATH, Dibbler, The Librarian, Vetinari (as the trainee assasin), the Luggage, and finally Mort.
