I keep saying to my wife: This is the one to get on UHD blu-ray when it comes out. It's pretty stunning in 1080, can't imagine what it would be like with HDR...
Every episode has a stand-out sequence, whether it's Marine Iguana vs snakes (ep1) or Kung-Fu eagles (ep2) or Jaguar vs Cayman (ep3), but it's all truly wonderful.
makes me smile every time I see it

Giraffe vs Lion was the stand-out last night...
Haven't had chance to start this yet, you guys have got me hyped though, gonna have to binge over Xmas. =)
Cracking series, and to think I've not even watched the first one! I know what I'm doing over Christmas...
Steam - ReapedYou - Feel free to add me!!
Was it on last night, or is that the season over? SPOTY was on BBC1, so did it get shifted to BBC2?
And good news!

Hopefully it'll be available early in the New Year. Seems daft that it was filmed in 4k, but you have to wait for the UHD blu-ray, but there you go...
The picture quality in HD looks amazing, I'm also watching Blue Planet on BBC2 HD and that does not look anywhere near as crisp, it might be upscaled.
My UHD disc is on its way. I think this might be the reference disc which justifies a 4k telly/UHD player.

Got it from zoom.co.uk for £27.99
David Attenboroough makes the series special. Guy's such a pleasure to listen to, it's soothing. Too bad he doesn't do audio books much.
Do you mind me asking which UHD bluray player you use? I'm looking to invest in a 4K TV now due to Planet Earth 2. I was looking at the Xbox One S but I've seen reports online where it's not very good at playing certain discs...
Finally got round to watching it this weekend - it's absolutely magnificent. If I didn't already have a UHD blu-ray, this would be worth it just to see the extra colours and depth.
abs_rio - I've got the Samsung UBD-K8500. It's apparently not the best, but it does the job. Got it half price with a new telly, which at the time was £175, and you can't get any uhd blu-ray players for that price. I have heard about the XBox One S having problems with the PE2 discs in particular. Over on AV Forums, someone who complained to Microsoft was told the disc was encoded incorrectly (!) even though the user had the Panny u700, and it played fine in that...
