    Audible - worth it?

    Morning all.
Am a fan of reading, and have come to be quite interested in audio books recently.
On the one hand, Audible seems like a decent and reliable service that wont be going out of business next week.
On the other, it seems like it costs as much as Netflix each month, and uses some proprietary stuff that only works in its own players.

Is it worth it? What should i be cautious about? Should i go for it?
    Experiences appreciated.

I don't have an answer to your question but...

Amazon own it, so it going out of business seems unlikely as I'd imagine it's much more sustainable than Lovefilm.

I love it. You can download the files for playing on a number of devices, but I use the app for my iPhone. Works really well...

Which Amazon also owned. It's more whether they find it profitable enough to keep going.

Depends what your criteria of worth it is. If you like listening to people read books when you are unable to read them yourself (driving perhaps, or if you are blind) then it is worth it. Personally I preferred reading the text, and if I'm driving I would find listening to the nuances of the complex plot distracting. YMMV.

Why not take out a subscription for a month and see you you get on with it? Amazon have offers from time to time with a free trial, but paying for one month is a lot of money to see how it fits in with your lifestyle.
