Apple TV  Only a 7 day trial offered - that's going to have to be a quick binge when the series is complete!
So is anyone watching the show now that's airing? I'm really enjoying it so far... a solid 8/10 for me.
It could quite easily have been a big budget mess, but so far I think it's building an interesting world, with enough intrigue to keep me engaged. The beautiful visuals and set design don't hurt either.
Here's a first scene we get of FTL jumping, the visuals and music score are sublime, it starts at 1min 30 sec, but watch the build up anyway :)

It's really, really good. Lot's of world building, but it's pretty accessible even if you haven't read any of the books.
Ensemble cast, of whom I've heard only the one... but who is good enough that I'd likely watch on the strength of his name alone!
I vaguely recall seeing a trailer ages back, I think.
I'll probably wait until it's available through non-Apple channels, though.
I'll hold you personally responsible for any dissatisfaction I experience, then... :p
Yes, Jared, although I have since learned that I've seen Lee Pace as Thranduil, but he wasn't memorable enough that I recalled his name... The others I'd have to look up.
Doesn't mean it's a bad thing, and some of my favourite programmes have featured people previously unknown to me.
It the first TV show in years - since the early days of Game of Thrones - that I have watched on the release schedule. Usually, I just leave it a while and binge watch the first season but this had me from the first announcement.
It's ambitious, given the scale of the source material but I'm enjoying it so far.
Aside from Jared Harris, I remember Terence Mann (The Dresden Files), but the rest are unknown to me. I thought I recognised Lee Pace, but IMDB doesn't bring up anything familiar. He did play Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy, but I didn't realise that was him until I read it tonight.
Looks pretty good, might take a look at. Thanks for the reminder
Going to be watching Episode 6 tonight. Nice to have a sci-fi show I'm enthusiastic about watching for once (along with The Expanse). I really don't care for any of the current iterations of Trek, although I still watch them in hope. Discovery was a real let down. Picard was at least better than Discovery. For All Mankind, Foundation and regrettably the final season of The Expanse will see me for a little while at least.
Never heard of the series or anything until the trailer. Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it and the season finale was good enough to keep me engaged for Season 2. One of the better sci-fi shows I've seen anyway.
The first season was pretty good. I usually give a new show six episodes to grab me, and sooo many have fallen foul of that test - some examples are Breaking Bad, The Orville, Prison Break, Star Trek: Discovery and Supergirl to name a few. Star Trek: Pensioner scraped through and I watched the entire first season, but I don't know if I care enough to watch a second season.
Foundation was an easy pass.
I watched it and really ejoyed it. roll on season 2
Start watching this tonight let's hope it's good or I'll blame you lot. J/k quite looking forward to this.
Logged into my near future viewing. Managed to nab a free trial of Apple via Curry's perks so that's a boon.
It's been long enough since I read the books that I should be able to treat it as a stand alone series.
Looking forward to it so much I'm putting off watching it. Which makes no, but all the, sense.
