Scary films - Love or hate?

Im watching event horison, (on bbc one now). I love the film but it scasres the **** out of me. I get put of by some films because of there scaryness. Like i watched 10sec of evil dead 2 once. I lost alot of sleep over it.

I find it strance how films are only scary when you wathc them on your own. However witha some mates there fine, do you find that, like scary films??

Plus watch Event Horision on now bbc1!!!!

One of the best films I have seen recently was Saw, its a fantastic film and one of the best endings I have seen in ages.

Im watching event horison, (on bbc one now). I love the film but it scasres the **** out of me.

Missed the beginning of that film - again!
From what I've seen it's not a bad film, quite intelligent (in that it doesn't involve teenagers out in the woods, wandering off on their own one by one, then walking slowly backwards into dark places.)
But it's hard to tell if the story's good or not when you miss the start!

Can't say any film has ever scared me. I've been made to jump, but that's not quite the same.

There's a Japanese film called Audition that I found quite disturbing, almost wished I hadn't seen it.
If you think Event Horizon is scary, maybe you'd better avoid that one.

Audition made me feel ill. I'm not sure if it was worsened by it being in japenese with english subtitles or what. I couldn't turn it off either, because I was watching it with friends. I don't acually remember much from the film other than this one bit where (SPOILER!!!) the girlfriend (i think) got a cheese cutting wire thing, and cut his legs off. It seemed really graphics and extremelly disturbing.

Afterwards my friend (who'd seen it before) said did you like it? I still don't know what to think about that film.

As for scary films, I thought that Event Horizon was pretty good, but I thought alien was a bit scarier. I'm not good with scary films usually, but I think I usually like the sci-fi ones (alien, event velocity, predetor etc), but I wouldn't go to the cinema to see one - especially not with surround sound etc .

I do like scary films, although they do scare me a tad sometimes I still feel compelled to watch them though

I found Event Horizon a bit irritating, I gave up and wen to bed after an hour or so.
Evil Dead 2 was just funny really, there were a few bits that made me jump a bit, but nothing really scary.

I'll tell you what did scare me in a confusing "Dear god, my brain hurts" way" 12 Monkeys.

I love a good scary film!
They arn't exactly scary but they are usually a good laugh to watch.
Gotta admit The Grudge freaked me out in the cinema, made me jump a bit!

Sci-Fi/Comedy preferably .. maybe some Action.

Well, that's quite true actually.

But I agree, watching scary movies with friends are better than to watch them alone. I get scared quite easily though, the last really scary movie that I watched (myself) was: One missed call.
And my god, Japaneese movies are scary!! I lost some sleep over that too!!
