Complete Starwars DVD Box Set...?

George Lucas has been quoted as saying that they are unwilling to milk the Star Wars saga any further and that there will be no 6 dvd box set. All distributed and original copies of the first 3 movies will be destroyed by fire by June 2005 at Skywalker ranch. So looks like your'e out of luck.

which books are the eps 7, 8 and 9? the Timothy Zahn ones?

the official books would probably give enough matterial for another 6 films at least!

The Jedi Academy series is supposed to be quite good apparently...

He said he wont make them, by the time he changes his mind he will do one and then prob die - the last 2 will be done REALLY badly by some random person and ruin starwars forever!

Its bad enough that hes going to be doing a tv series!

lets not forget HE only directed the first starwars film (new hope) and Empire was directed byt the Irvin Kurshner (sp?) guy. ok so it was writen and so on by Lucas but I think the reason why the others were so successful is because he asked other directors, well grounded ones, to take control as he sat back and 'semi-directed'. The recent films I think haven't worked out as well because there hasn't been that alternative viewpoint offered by another experienced director. don't get me wrong Lucas has worked his magic in many ways but as with anything a different view is always useful and often turns up the unexpected...look how empire turned out. probably the best in series, though I haven't seen 3 yet so can't say for certain...[but i'm guessing empire is still the best]
