I've seen it, it's the crappest movie i've ever seen.

It's extremly boring, rubish story line, it jumps from one part of the story to another, the stupid colours do my head in, the characters are stupidly un-human like whilst acting to be human... I could go on but i don't want to start people flaming.

It didnt make sense to me either, it kept cutting from one story line to another, sure it was like a story book, but it confused the hell out of me.

Not only that didnt the guys seem unhuman? Im sure that one guy got shot about 10 times and still lived, infact, didnt he die at one point and come back to life?

Yeah, he even got executed...twice, and he was still alive in the end.

its a convirted comic, and each story was a book of the comic series. they aren't really linked, but you occasionally see each others characters. thats why the characters have a slightly supernatural power - the story isnt meant to be uber realisic- i mean the cars fly ffs!

as for the story cutting, pulp fiction does that and its widely regarded as one of the best movies of our time..

its not the *best* movie i've seen, but its a long long long way from the worst - i'd personally put it way above all the generic movies of our time.

The 3 storys were on different timelines, thats why you saw him still alive at the end.

I've seena lot of varying opinion in the press about Sin City. I went to see the film in Aylesbury last weekend, and though I'd share my thoughs.

It's not supposed to be Film Noir in the classic sense. Sorry Guardian editors, but you're full of ****. It's not supposed to be "real" per se either. It's a film version of "Comic Noir", if you will.

The original Sin City comics aren't realy about set heroes - they're about Basin City, and the stories that occur in & around it. I think the film did a remarkable job in keeping that feeling alive - a blockbuster film containing unrelated sub-stories? Fairly original in itself - and remarkable well achieved.

Continuing the comics theme, about now is the time to mention the cinematography. This film is BEAUTIFUL. Truly, Ive never seen anything quite like it. In these days of comic book films, none of them even come close to this level of comic bookery - Not Spiderman, Hulk, X-Men, Daredevil, Elektra, whatever. Sin City is without a doubt the best looking of the lot. Just little things like the contast of light & shadow when Elijah Wood first walks in to kill Goldie - that's the kind of shot I didn't think could be done in film, only on a medium such as comics. The slight colorization might have been nicked from Schindler's List, but it was a highly effective visual cue - especially for highlighting the difference between Wendy and Goldie.

The film is *INCREDIBLY* violent. Kill bill had gore, but wasn't really very violent at all - the Crazy 77's were about as uninteresting as a horde of imps in Doom 2. Sin City on the other hand was truly gut-wrenching at times. The bad guys weren't just bad, they were illness-inducing. The IRA mercenaries, Kevin, and without a doubt Roark Jr were truly terrible, in a way nothing I've seen before has moved me.

Worth watching? Hmm... probably. If you're a fan of Tarantino or dark Graphic Novels (e.g. The Punisher), then yeah, you should. If you're a fan of both, then definitely. If not, it's probably not the best film for you

Hmmmm, stupidly non-human.....you do realise that it's a comic book adaptation right, a good one that means that it doesn't stray from the original style (unlike most movie adaptations i.e X-Men) Read the comics then go back to the film and look at it in a different light.

I guess it was just the style of the movie, if I was a bit less intoxicated it might have made sense, but as I saw it, I didnt like it, Ill be watching it again next week to see what the fuss is really all about
