    The Island, Possible spoilers

Anyone notice how weird it was that in 2019 when they have jet bikes and hologram projectors and all that, people still drive RX-8s? And that people rich enough to afford 5 million for a clone, are using a 15 year old phone? (Echos sponsor has an 8800)

Because first off, scarlet johansen in a nice tight pair of trousers isnt in it, and second of all (as if you need another reason) the trailer makes it look the cheesiest most soppy ego stroking film ever, backed up by the fact that it has lots of people who are either only a little bit famous, or used to be but you havent seen for a while in it. Plus i got to see a 30ft tall jessica alba in a bikini in a trailer for some film about a crashed plane full of gold.

And it is actually a very very good film im just pedantic about stuff like that.

Those are all very good reasons for not seeing the film, that the trailer looked poor and that the actors aren't all totally famous. What do you expect for the $6.5 million it cost to make?

The point wasnt that the actors arent all huge, that i dont mind, what i kind of had an aversion to was that they all kind of used to be a bit famous and it seemed like a kind of convenient way for them all to do a film. I dunno, might go and see it, might not, but it really doesnt loko that impressive. As i said the voiceover on the trailer sounds so ridiculous, and thats really what put me off. 'We all miss the sense of touch, thats why we crash into each other' I mean, what the hell does that mean? Sounds too much like some script writer thats been reading too many popular psychology books for his own good.

The Island had Neelix from ST: Voyager in it, woo!

The film itself was good, but not great.

True, took me a good few minutes to place him though. I was thinking he was from the radio or something cos i knew the voice but not the face.

it's just another movie plot hole like star wars, in episode III the technology is advanced and in IV it's not even close to the III

In what way is it more advanced? Its certainly shinier, but you have to remember the empire is pretty stagnant, but theres still nothing as powerful as star destroyers in 3, and the rebels basically use what they can get their hands on.

Got back from seeing it just now - was cringing and laughing at a lot/most of it :/
It was laughably poor in places, but I guess if you leave your brain at home and take your pink handbag instead you might enjoy it more

I particularly love the movie, defo down in my favourite list this year. Thats my taste though, I just really enjoyed it, particularly the innocence of their love.

    Silly people!!!!

Watched it this afternoon, pretty good film on the whole, I judge a film as good if I would be happy to watch it again, and I would

The film was okay, I made sure I had three pints before I went in and loads of penny sweets.

I also saw A.I last night, it was great at the start but half way through it's like Spelberg buggered off and left the runner to direct the film.

I hated AI, the thought of artificial children is horrible, i cried all the way through it.

I guess people these days don't drive classic cars do they.

Nah, no Minis, E Types or such on the road these days are there...
