That's true, but I think it's also true that its kind of used as a signature. If you take a beat produced by The Neptunes, Kanye West, Cool & Dre, Scott Storch, Swizz Beats, Timbaland, they all have their own individual styles. Play me a song made by any of them and I can name who made it. In fact they rarely make anything out of their comfort zone so to speak, and I mean if it sounds good with their style and signature snares, kicks etc why fix it?Quote:

e-LAN-go, you are also very true on the Missy and Aaliyah thing - I did also think that much of their success was almost entirely on the new wave of Timbaland beats, which it was. But Aaliyah had a really sweet voice, and I have a song of 'Don't Know What to Tell Ya' (another fav) with a killer remix and really good french vocals, but it just isn't as good. I also have big respect for DMX, and Swizz Beats who makes a lot of his material. Some of his songs you can listen to any time and it will still sound so good.
