There was something in one of the 'making of' programs where the cast said they weren't getting the script until the week before shooting...at the time it was said it was to stop plot leaks, but now it seems more likely that they'd only just finished writing it....

Just read this interview with the dude who plays Mr Eko:

    Will Lost ever end?
I have no idea, to be honest. It depends how interested the fans are.

Do the writers have any idea how it’s going to end?
Honestly, I don’t think so. You’d have to ask them but I think they’re just a few episodes ahead of the game and just let it roll from there.

    So they’re blagging it?
I think so, yeah. I think they’re winging it, mate.

Hehe. Sounds like a cool bloke tho.

I doubt they will have no idea at all, they must have had an idea originally started then thought, wow this is making us tonnes of cash so lets string it out. Whatever they come up with, it must be partially based on the original idea at least. And i am sure its some kind of take on the Bermuda Triangle legend.

But basically it looks like we will end up with an overly long run of seasons, painfully dragged out until everyone is completly sick of it then come up with some terrible and ridiculously contrived ending that will not answer half the questions about the mad plot lines they started then forgot about. Yep, it may be great viewing right now, but this is surely heading for the same fate as the X-Files. Shame.

I rekon there all unconcious after eating in a resturaunt and they're all the ones that have ordered the 'pig something' a la crunk, beknownst to them that the chef has ordered the ingredients from his local vodoo cajan proprierter and has been given a wild freakin halucinagenic mushroom eatin boar from from the beaches of Hawaii, and the boar ain't having any of it dammit, so the boar's tripped out soul is having it's sick little game with a bunch of people that just went out instead of frying up some chips at home (..mmm) , i dont even think jacks' a doc, i rekon hes one of the waiters that snuk a bit of 'pork a la crunk' in his pocket an 'ad it for his after smoke snack.

yeahhhh, i like lost too, wish i knew what was goin on though....hmmm...

Watched it last night, the opening few mintues were cool and the rest of the show was pretty good, answered quite a few questions, but was I the only one expecting a bit more of a cliffhanger or something at the end?

Yeah I was really expecting something :s. There will probably be a massive one at the end of the 6th episode when they take a break untill Febuary

Lost is a delicate balance between keeping things mysterious and being so secretive it gets annoying. They seriously need to pace in a few reveals before the break.

There really is no other explanation for the lack of direction and discarded plot threads.
That sounds likely. There are far too many questions that you know they have forgotten about. Wheres Rosseau, on holiday (sp) and Jin/Sahid/Desmond. I love this show

series 3 ep 1 was pretty cool

i can see it going on until people realise these questions will never get answered. then we will be eternally sceptical about tv series which dont give us all the answers straight away

They are delaying it untill Feburary in an effort to avoid random breaks like last year. I think Battlestar Galactica also did this last year as well.
