    King Kong (spoiler alert)

Before i discuss the main topic i just like to say WOW this film is amazing and i realy enjoyed it. you need to see this movie, yes its a bit long but its very enjoyable.

Anywas back to the point, i notice their is a scene missing from the film where naomi watts is sitting on a rock being filmed by that director guy. the director tells her to scream and when she does, you hear the Kong in the background. it looked as if they where in shores where the boat crashes..

This scene was infact included in the trailer and i noticed it wasnt included in the actual film..

Yeah, happens quite often I reckon - the trailer is releases so early in compariosn to the finished article, I reckon they cut scenes out or change them.

Same thing happend with ROTK - the trailer had the scene with Gandalf facing off against the Fell Beast, but it wasn't in the theatrical cut. They put it back in for the extended cut though.

King Kong movie - how can I be alone in thinking it's overrated?

Saw the King Kong movie on Saturday and was - how shall I put it? - severely unimpressed.

Okay, some of the special effects were clever but taken as a whole, the movie seemed to me to be a series of illogical jumps between special effects.

And that made a LONG film seem even longer to me.

Also, some of the effects were far better than others - a number of the NY street scenes, for instance, were pretty dodgy; likewise the planes circling the Empire State Building.

I also thought the way that KK is seen KO'd on the shores of Skull island and next appears on stage in NY was a major cop-out. And WHY did the hero nick that taxi in NY?

As for the heroine wearing just a thin dress and not feeling the cold in what clearly were arctic conditions in NY (especially up the top of the Empire State Building), well, really!

I'm not in any way attempting to compare this to the B&W original - which I haven't seen for years and don't remember warming to - but I was disappointed with the new version.

I'd been really looking forward to seeing it, having largely been impressed with how Peter Jackson spends his budget on big-budget movies, in particular how he managed to capture the flavour of LOTR and still thread a story line through each movie.

    Bum!

    magnetism...big magnets in her shoes...

I really enjoyed the film. i didn't know exactly what to expect so was pleasently surprised. yes its long, but i was totally absorbed. it coul dbe some scenes were cut and be replaced in an extended version? this seems to be a characteristic of this director...LOTR films were less than 3hrs as cinema releases - partly because he had 3 films to spread the work over but also becauase he cut a chunk out of them all. I wonder whats next for peter jackson.he's certainly good at giving value for money performances...though a 'pee break' in the middle would be good too, no one left the theatre the whole performance but when it ended everyone headed to the loo!! all that coke (and popcorn)
